Hacking the Zen

Post by Kyub »

The firmware for the Zen Flute is on Github (MIT license). There is a moog type synthesizer with lots of features to play with (written in C with the Teensy Audio Library) and a Processing GUI if you want to tweak the virtual knobs without rewriting the code. There is also a Faust language physical model of a flute that can be loaded (or "factory" installed if you send an e-mail). Anyone who can provide some pointers on how to trim this thing down so it uses less memory would be considered a hero. But it is fun to play with and you can hear a clip on the site. And there is a disk with laser cutting files, PCB files, and a schematic is also available for repair and hacking.Image
