I need some help understanding what's going on in these schematics.
My supplier substituted BAT43 diodes for the BAT42's I had ordered for use in the Oakley ADR30, DCR320, and SRE330. These are used in the meter circuits in the DCR320 and SRE330. Can I substitute the BAT43 with it's lower forward voltage and expect the same meter behavior without changing resistors? Or should I get some BAT42's.
In the ADR30 the BAT42 is used (I think) to clean up negative overshoots resulting from the RC shaping circuit, so I think a BAT43 will work here?

I don't think there is any practical difference between the two parts, except that the BAT43 has a guaranteed minimum forward voltage at a specific current. It is likely that the BAT43 is just a machine selected BAT42 with that particular, and possibly arbitrary, characteristic.

Ok thanks Tony. "A guaranteed minimum forward voltage at a specific current" explains things. I was wondering why they made it hard to compare the two components by indicating forward voltages for both devices at different currents!
