LT1013CP sub?

Post by Pav »

Hi Tony,
The LT1013CP is getting tricky to find at a decent price
At RS where only one type appears to be in stock but it doesnt say C or D .. minimum orders are 5 @ over 5 quid each inc VAT
so before i pull the trigger (or wait hoping backorders will get fullfilled) i thought
i might just ask if any substitutes and consequences of using them.
This is for the VRG i ordered a while back.

While Im here 1458 opamp i was discussing with eljay - same question - would TL072 substitute at what consequence?

Hoping you are fit and well,
Cheers

It's always been quite expensive. But Mouser have them for about four quid each. DIL (through hole) semiconductors are going to get increasingly more expensive as the years go by.

Other alternatives are pretty much any precision dual op-amp that isn't too fast. But really a TL072A or LF412 will work too - you'll get a bit more drift which will affect absolute tuning (but not scaling thankfully).

The 1458 is a cheap and nasty little thing. However, it has poor slew rate (ie. it's relatively slow) which does give the desired effect in the Noise/Filter module. You could try other op-amps in there - they might work just as well, but I've not tried it.
