I received my PSU boards today - along with the three pin power socket used with the Yamaha power adapters. I'm realizing that I don't know the strategy for wiring the power socket and power switch. Attached is a photo. Are these just simple solder-and-heat-shrink jobs? For example, do I just put the power wires into the three pin socket, solder the wire to the socket, and then insulate with heat shrink tubing? Or is there a more appropriate or better way to do this?
I have the same question for the power switch, but this will depend on what switch I end up using - it might be more like wiring a mono socket.

Yes. I normally tin the bared ends of the wires. Then fill the solder buckets on the socket with a bit of solder. Then re-apply heat to the solder bucket and slide the wire into place. Heat shrink can be applied to act as a strain relief.

What about the power switch? From the part number in your parts guide I've found this:

The product information states that the connectors are "quick connect", which is what the spades on the various power pcbs connect to or with. But I can't tell what size quick connect spades these switches have - the data sheet doesn't specify. Can I assume they would be the same as the spades used on the power boards?
Or I could solder directly to the switch, but I'd like to use the proper connector if it isn't a hassle.

Probably not. I would think they would be the smaller middle sized (4.8mm) spades. You can solder these sorts of tabs but you can melt the plastic if you're not fast enough.waldenpotato wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 8:03 amCan I assume they would be the same as the spades used on the power boards?
