Journeyman for Eurorack

The Journeyman is now available in the smaller format.



The circuit is mostly the same as the 5U Journeyman except that I have used the improved drive control from the 5U DLF instead of the original. That is, like the DLF, turning up the drive control doesn't change the output volume.

So, I built my dual version.

I really appreciate the PCB-Quality. HASL finish (I do hate soldering ground connections on those pretty ENIG-panels that are not so fresh). Silkscreen has readable font, always fully printed (no lost letters, or 0=8), part numbering is oriented on PCB (not schematics).

I'm a new fan!

I was slightly unsure about normalisation / ground for making a dual version, Tony answered my questions very quickly and with good explanations. (I normalised CV from left side to right, and left Out to right In)

Sounds splendid. Also has my first Schaeffer panel, looks great. Have to share.

This is cool. What color did you use for the front panel? I'm curious if there is an easy way to build this without having to modify the circuit boards.

This is bronze elox.

I was conflicted as well, and unsure if i might want to use it separately..but then the panel is expensive as is, two singles much more, and i was too lazy to make ugly fr4 or freestyle alum panels. Also this was an indulgence. And i am happy, this is a very nicely resodriving „bandpass“.

So, the normalization would be more difficult without cutting traces, as all are normalized to 0V.. which you could in theory do, by working on the thonkiconns. That was too involved for me though, and the mod of the pcb is very easy.
