hello, whats the orientation of the red cap/transistor, T2 on the schematic, T1 on the PCB, ??

lettering facing to the pots, or here on the picture to the camera ?
lettering towards camera, right ?
edit: the Elko is 47uF ?
Yes! Cap lettering is facing camera!
Facing away from pots, towards camera.
The left one of those two Russian IC's seems to be off to me in that picture STØJ.
What do you mean by "IC seems to be off"?
Left IC is missing plastic part but it works fine.

I meant the orientation.
Looking at Girts build on page 5 (and the silkscreen) the two IC's are not pointing in the same way, the lettering on both the IC's in your picture looked to me to be pointing in the same direction.
Mustn't matter if your build works.

Hope you still have these available? Sounds and looks great and so many satisfied builders means I hope to make it my first diy project. :tu:

It is pointing right way. There is small black triangle on the silkscreen that is showing direction. Lettering doesn't matter. There is small tip on IC that should be pointing same way as black triangle on the silkscreeen.

The two metal op amps do point in different directions. The metal tab on the case indicates pin 1? which is then aligned with a triangle printed on the PCB.

Built mine and it works great. The lettering will come off if you catch it with your pliers when tightening up the pot nuts and jack nuts. But that's because you should use the proper tools :)

finished my first unit, only BP out for now as i don´t have the right switches,
respectivly not shure if i should add the LP jack instead of the switch.

after a first short test here is my first feedback:
i changed the audio in pot to Audio taper as suggested or donne by someone else in the thread.
I would not do that. I´l have to change to lin......

The problem with starting to "correct" the perceived faults with the polivoks is you tame it.

It's not supposed to be predictable and sensible.

Q:
can i change R6 to get more input gain ?
edit: smaller more gain ?
can i go 3:1 ? what value ?

oh, i suggested a change in gain settings, not to "correct" the filter.
adds noise though........

but while we´re at it:
what you say is not necessarily true.
there are ways to more linearize the freq behave without taming it in a bad way.
The Le Bernard Polivoks has that.

i just wondering how much different ICs behave different here?
got now the LP donne too. Great Module ! nice to have another Polivoks.
I´m a sucker for Polivoks VCFs ;)

WOW, patching now synth signals thru my Erica Polivoks
finsihed second unit.
Has Lin Pot for audio In ( as originaly suggested by Girts ). Much better !

comparing the two Ericas, they sound the same.
Papparelle Polivoks is out now , no space in the rack.
But one Erica unit is for a friend

.....WOW
thank you Girts !

@ Girts23,

Any thoughts on doing more modules ?
What is the Polvoks VCO like, is it as brutal as the VCF ?

Awesome! I've been looking for a good Polivoks clone ever since I built my Shruthi w/ the Polivoks filter. Will PM...

Polivoks VCO basically is simple triangle/ramp/pulse VCO with octave divider. A guy from Chromeo in the interview for FutureMusic told that only by hearing several triangle waves, he can tell from which synth model they are coming from :) I do not have such skill, therefore I do not find Polivoks VCO something special :D
BUT I'm about to present few modules in ~2 weeks for your evaluation!

And few more totally innovative are coming soon, but they will not be DIY, as they are too advanced (lot of SMT parts and PICs) to make those DIY...

i have had log pot, changed to lin.
Polivoks VCF needs in ANY case a attenuation Pot for the input as the input gain makes quite a bit of a difference on the sound !

My very first polivoks VCF was built without input attenuator.......

would have been nice........
anyway, gonna add now a little veroboard circuit for gainstages
mountingholes comes very handy for that

Waiting patiently as the kits are delivered around the world... looks like they are working their way across the US lately. This is like tracking Santa! HaHa!

Parts arrived from Tayda today, so will be watching for mine. :hyper:
