[AVAILABLE] CA Thruster- updated Impulse Drive

Post by synthcube » Sat Mar 06, 2021 4:21 pm

Very pleased to say that Brother Theo has updated the classic Impulse Drive and is re-launching it via synthCube- meet the Thruster!
Best described as "Triple PWM generator with Digital RingMod, cross-faded inputs and sub divides"-- it now comes with a black panel.

PCBs, panels and full kits available now, with fully assembled versions coming soon--

looking forward to hearing some old Impulse Drive stories here as well as seeing some new Thruster builds!

Very cool to see that CA is still operating on some level. Is this just a name/panel change? Is the circuit identical to the original Impulse Drive?

Hi, I just reinstalled my Impulse Drive into my case as I've been really getting into comparators and sample & holds, and am planning to do some demos on it as a triple cascading comparator for CVs, and how it's a fantastic multi-output gate pattern generator/modulation source that is still a fairly unique design in Eurorackland.

Made a small preview today as I prepare to plan how to learn this module for myself and share my process of figuring this thing out (and hopefully get people to use it creatively).

Highly recommend this module now that it's been re-released!
