ASV Pots Part Numbers

Post by waldenpotato » Fri Aug 27, 2021 8:25 am

Does anybody happen to have the parts numbers for the ASV pots handy? I think I’ve found what I need at Small Bear and Maybe Amplified Parts but want to be sure - is there a better or cheaper source for these?

Thanks.

I bought my Pots for the ASV from Musikding in Germany (I am in the UK), they may or may not be of interest. I provide the Musikding part numbers so that you can compare with the items you have already seen. The prices you have seen seem about right.

Alpha 16mm angled PC mount 50k linear : Musikding part al16gewpr50K

Alpha 16mm angled PC mount 50k log : Musikding part al16gepr50kg

I also buy all the required knobs and some of the harder to find ICs (e.g AS3310) from Musikding, so a reasonable sized order can be made up that may compensate for the postage costs.

Thanks, eljay. I've been poking around and have found that Tayda might have legitimate Alpha pots that are very cheap:
- 50k log, with dust cover: https://www.taydaelectronics.com/ddup-5 ... mount.html
- 50k lin, with dust cover: https://www.taydaelectronics.com/b50k-o ... unt-l.html
- 50k lin: https://www.taydaelectronics.com/b50k-o ... 401-l.html

I could only find the 50k log pots with the dust cover. Do you have any experience with these pots when they have dust covers on them?

I haven't used pots with dust covers but I think I recall seeing previous advice saying to just remove the plastic surround from the pot if they are getting in the way. Those Tayda prices look very cheap, I have never bought from them so can't comment on the quality, I'm sure there are others who can.

I've purchased resistors, capacitors, ic sockets - this kinda stuff - from them before. Good prices and they ship quickly to the USA. The particular pots that I linked look to be genuine Alpha parts. I might try it out maybe sometime soon.
