Delay transistors

Post by oozitron » Fri Jan 01, 2021 11:29 pm

The analogue delay (ADR-30) calls for two BC547C transistors.

Would BC547 CBU transistors work ok? (couldn't find info on "C" vs "CBU" anywhere and probably wouldn't understand it anyway)

thanks!

They're the same thing. The "C" refers to the grade of the transistor. The "BU" tells us that it is from ON Semiconductor (rather than, say, Motorola) and that it came in "bulk" packaging. Other suffixes from ONSemi include "TFR" and "TA." They will all work exactly the same way in your ADR-30.

Have fun!

Thanks Flounderguts :-)

This is weird because I was *just* looking at the "what could you talk about for 30 min" thread and saw that you listed metallurgy. My dad got his degree in metallurgy and worked for a "specialty metals" company that had molybdenum in most of their products. When they got a huge extrusion press my dad was supervisor of that part of the plant. I worked summers there during college, making pure moly hex nuts for industrial furnaces.

anyway, thanks again and Happy New Year!

The ADR30 uses BC549C and BC559C transistors. There are no BC547C used, although they would probably work just fine in place of the BC549C.

Yeah, I was looking at my spreadsheet wrong! If I had to pay myself for all the time I spend keeping track of parts and ordering more and such, I'd never be able to afford this hobby!
