sneaky run stop command

Hi there, so what's strange is that in the configurator I'm not seeing that sneaky run stop command that's causing the gate to open... see attached pdf of the config. Perhaps I'm missing something?

Most likely the sysex you posted doesn't actually correspond to this config. How did you capture it?

I hit "upload from FH-2" on the chrome configurator page. I have this saved as a configuration (versus a preset) so I don't know if that's making a difference.

Yes, that's also what I'm seeing! Its a preset set up for 4 voice poly on the Fh-2 and 1 voice mono on the expander, plus two clocks

yes, it does. I've even reinstalled the firmware and started from scratch with an init configuration.

The initial configuration does have the run/stop on output 8. You'll need to go in and remove that if you don't want it.

I just tried your sysex on my FH-2 and it works fine - no gate on output 8 when starting the transport.

I just tried your sysex on my FH-2 and it works fine - no gate on output 8 when starting the transport.
Os, not sure if you saw that the latest Keystep Firmware mentions this bugfix:

...USB packets now properly sent, solves the connection to a USB host such as the FH-2...

Just saw the Arturia email as well and ran out to look up the bug fixes and was ecstatic to see the FH-2 issue mentioned. I’m still jamming the FH-1 and love it. It’s finally time to plug the Keystep back in! Thank you for bugging them about it ;D

Hi everyone, I have such a hard time figuring out the gates with a 4ms enosc module...I am using an Cme Xkey midi keyboard controller. Everything looks good inside the Configuration tool but still no gates...pitch is working but gates won't close the Enosc when keys not pressed. I tried another midi keyboard and same result... One thing I noticed with the second midi keyboard was the fact that output 1 color was blue and not red. Cv is supposed to be blue, right? I have a continuous red color on output 1...and output 2 for gates turns red only when i press the keys ( i guess that is correct behaviour...but still not closing the gate).

Any sort of help is appreciated.

p.s. Another thing I realized is that output 1 changes colors ( the lower i play in octaves...turns blue and higher the notes in octave turns red )

Blue means negative voltage and read means positive voltages. At the end everything is CV :)

Check the voltage range of the output, it can be configured bipolar or unipolar. For Gates or Pitch CV use 0-5V or 0-10V.

Also try to load the FH-2 with a new configuration and setup and start from scratch. Outputs can also be offset directly and the FH-2 memorizes the last set voltage after reboot.

Apologies for reviving an old thread but I figured asking here would be easier than starting a new thread, since it relates to stuck gates.

I'm running FH-2 (v1.14) in Note Range mode, sending midi notes from my DSI Tempest. I was hoping to be able to have some pads from the Tempest trigger gates from FH-2, and some pads not triggering anything. You can't set the Tempest to not send a midi note from a particular pad, so I was thinking I could set the Note Range on the FH-2 to 5, only making use of the first 4 of those, then set the extra Tempest pads to send midi notes in the 5th range. However whenever I hit a pad sending a midi note in the 1-4 Ranges at the same time as a pad in the 5th range, the gate in 1-4 range doesn't close until I hit something in that range again. Gates in 1-4 range close fine when generated individually, or at the same time as other notes in the 1-4 range.

(Not sure if it's relevant but I also have the 8GT connected (but no 8CV)).

I would suggest you do this by explicitly setting the range of MIDI notes you want it to process:

Was the “stuck gate” issue isolated to Arturia/Beatstep+USB/Midi? I’m sending fast gates from Elektron/Octatrack over the Midi-breakout. As I increase retrigs, the FH-2 gate will stuck at full red. If I change the channel on the same sequence to different FH-2 outputs, that gate will get stuck too. To unstuck I have to power cycle. If I keep my gates to 1/16 it works fine. Is there minimum gate size? Or max gate frequency? Let me go double check the manual on this..

— edit: Whatever I’m doing in my midi sequence, it causes other synth-gear to get stuck-on as well. Need to learn more about midi limitations. Apologies for bumping this old thread.

I am currently getting a similar behavior than the one described above with an Embodme ERAE Touch controller in MPE mode and an FH-2 (+1 CV Expander), configured for MPE as well and in round robin or unsion mode. I searched around and found only this thread, so I am reviving it in hopes the information can be found in one place. Hope that's ok!

Bascially I am sometimes getting a note stuck with gate on and then it stays that way, but sometimes another note can reset it. I haven't yet done any further research or testing, but I read somewhere that the ERAE Touch sometimes generates "double notes" that come in rapid succession, not sure if it is true or not.

In any case it could also be something completely different, obviously. Is there anything I can do to further analyze this and potentially find a fix for it?
