I have just realised that the mystery fedex delivery I’ve been receiving notifications about, and which had begun to make me quite excited, is three rocker switched ordered in May. Bit disappointing 😂

In my case Fedex delivered the compressor within 3 days. It was the manufacturer who had a huge delay.

I put this on layaway. I have 4 months to pay it off, but I just decided to grab it. It will pair great with my Yamaha AN200/DX200s.

What is that? The only visible clues are depth and volume controls.

for my old laptop to visualize CV. Can´t yet say how well that works though, only tested with a single LFO.

It would seem that still, after all these years, perception is essentially thought to be a passive process.

Beautiful effect. Seems to be on a grand piano, but I’m likely wrong.

Yeah I didn't recognise it either. I thought only the CS1X and AN1X came in that chassis

Oh yeah! I'd forgotten there was a follow up to the CS1X; which I owned and remember liking very much, if I'm not mistaken.

So after many, many years of buying gear, I decided to finally drink of the Nord Kool-Aid and bought a Nord Piano 5.

I love it. It's exceeded my expectations. It sounds great and I really like the action, though I acknowledge both of those are subjective preferences that vary a great deal between pianists.

Nords are red, expensive, and freaking everywhere! Everyone knows that. But what I didn't realise is how good It feels to use. It's a bit like the first time I tried OSX. It's like yeah this is an operating system, sure, blah blah, this bit's like Windows, that bit isn't, yadda yadda ... oh wait, hold on ... this is really nice ... everything's in the right place ... there's just the right balance of flexibility versus hand-holding ... hey I like this vibe. Etc.

Nord, the Apple of digital pianos ... which will obviously make some of you fucking loath them

I'm seriously eyeing up a Nord Wave 2. If this is what they do with a piano. I'm curious what they'll do with a synth.

Oh yes siree, that Kool-Aid sure is tasty! Have you varmints put something in it?

Same here, had NL2X long long ago, but no Nords for at least a decade. I just picked up a Nord Wave 2, and it's really fantastic. Aftertouch keys and 48 polyphony really lets it breathe. A few interesting things for me: LFO is not the fastest, but its 523hz is pretty good for some fun. If you use it on max resonance cutoff, you get somewhat of a filterFM-like effect but softened down. Frequency wise, the NW2 goes all the way up to 40khz before slowly being rounded off before 50khz. I definitely get the Apple product comparisons above, I agree. NW2 doesn't feel handicapped though, it's a really amazing balance of limitations versus abilities. Oh and the sample editor is super easy to use, only took a few minutes to make a polyphonic Macbeth M3X patch I sampled in!

Oh that's great to hear. So close to pulling the trigger.

True for the NP5 too. The whole approach makes me think less and play more. It's fun.

rytm mk 2 - thinking about selling my mpc live 2 because the workflow isn't working for me, excited to get back into some elektron drum goodness since selling my digitakt. almost bought an e-mu orbit 9090 last week to get some metroid prime pads but realized that the e-mu proteus 3 is probably what i want more (9090's dance presets are a bit too cheesy for me)
