the FANCIEST option! i had a case with the Erica sequencer and drum sequencer and their drum modules. was NEAT to have triggers and accents be patched inside the case.KSS wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 7:04 pmYou could get an Emu Modular. would looooove that to be on every module ever. even if it's super impractical.
i... i dunno if Emu would want to build one with the modules i like now? would be VERY into that though.

Solder some pin headers to the back of said modules, to wire up the jack normals?behndy wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 10:42 am i have a pretty stable smaller eurorack case right now, so every single module to have ins and outs on the back of each module so i could keep the perma-routing hidden, break it if i patch the front of the module.

Probably half the available modules in about twice the hp.....
Paying and using, easily.....

Normal pins are often on ground on many modules, sadly. Bit of solder work can help though.grrrwaaa wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 12:57 amSolder some pin headers to the back of said modules, to wire up the jack normals?behndy wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 10:42 am i have a pretty stable smaller eurorack case right now, so every single module to have ins and outs on the back of each module so i could keep the perma-routing hidden, break it if i patch the front of the module.

MS-20 in full size with every modification: patch points into and out of every vco, vcf, vca, eg, lfo, make the T&H into a S&H, let us modify that PW, anything you can think of.

Dreadbox Abyss v2. Or honestly, just start producing v1 again.

a cheaper and smaller SP-1200 would be cool. don't need the new features of the S2400, just a lil mini SP-1200 lol.

19” rack version of the Assimil8or. Replace the CV inputs with MIDI CC implementation. Refit certain aspects of the OS to make it more akin to a standard 8 voice polyphonic sampler. I would buy 4 of them instantly, spare no expense.

Rossum Assimilator Standalone Desktop - with huge OLED, sliders and pads. slim case like mpc live, but tilted. not the bulky 1200 format. sixteen voices, sequencer xox/step/param lock, multiple outputs, filters, storage. looping, sample editing. key groups. much bigger memory, option to stream from a card. clock i/o and retain existing some of existing cv i/o assignable. full midi. option to add 19" ears.
Moog Matriarch eight voice true poly with two oscillators one filter dual adsr vca per voice, the standard setup. arpeggio. end with phaser shifter and dual bbd delay. sequencer with few rows. poly at kbd from iridium assignable destination. improved output section (Tony@Oakley modification) to un-darken the otherwise beautiful sound.
Tasty Chips GR2 - 5 times the cpu power. more memory. inputs for realtime processing. four outputs assignable. polyphonic filter and modulators, more/better effects. randomizers. more emphasys on cv i/o incl. grain seed trigger. retain form factor and with improved, color oled.
Chase Bliss releases Mood mkIII and Blooper mk III in automaton format (i.e. like CXM) with sliders and small display.

How about Octatrack mk3, with much bigger memory, modern CPU, slightly bigger screen, modern quality effects, modern quality stretching, more user friendly workflow, another pair of midi in/out + usb midi, more midi polyphony, and proper polyphony for midi data, storage capacity as MPC Live, at least 2x pairs of configurable stereo outputs. And Overbridge.

I badly want a v2 ( I have the original ) but if the boxed version of the Soma Terra* turns up first, I could well be swayed.albiedamned wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 6:41 am Dreadbox Abyss v2. Or honestly, just start producing v1 again.

A desktop case with a good combination of some physical and some virtual controls/displays, etc
…into which you drop the main board of an Oberheim Matrix 1000
…onto which you solder a nice modern replacement for all the digital gubbins
…all powered by an appropriate PSU
…then you switch it on, plug it in and twiddle it

Re: Take my money! Iterations of exisitng products you'd like to see
oh yes, i'd love all that. it fits "take my money" for me even more than my own suggestions. i'd add the following, to aleivate some issues i have with existing OT:droningspaghettimonster wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2023 6:30 am How about Octatrack mk3, with much bigger memory, modern CPU, slightly bigger screen, modern quality effects, modern quality stretching, more user friendly workflow, another pair of midi in/out + usb midi, more midi polyphony, and proper polyphony for midi data, storage capacity as MPC Live, at least 2x pairs of configurable stereo outputs. + much bigger screen and resolution, so it stops exluding people who don't have 100% vision anymore.
+ at least 6 or 8 outputs like on MnM/MD, configurable as mono or stereo pairs. finally make a piece of professional musical equipment, equally applicable for serious studio production as well as live. if i cant do individual processing with other gear, and am forced to make "all in one box" - it is audible, and not in a good way.
+ midi notes decoupled from steps and patterns logic. so you can have a chord with 3 notes of different lenghts, and overlapping into next pattern, like all daws and mpc/hapax and other "normal" sequencers work.
+ analog clock i/o and run, two cv/gate/mod combo, 2 midi out ports
+ and finally pro level converters with better i/o analog stages/opamps, and beefier cleaner psu for overall clarity and headroom (not talking Prism or Crane Song level, but decent Motu/Rme level 118dB etc which has become a new pro-sumer standard almost 10 years ago). 24bit and 48kHz. don't skimp on fundamentals.

Re: Take my money! Iterations of exisitng products you'd like to see
I’d pay for a different font for all Elektron displays. That deliberate pseudo 8-bit terminal lo-res font is terrible. Hate it.
Re: Take my money! Iterations of exisitng products you'd like to see
Octatrack with big touch screen please?
Re: Take my money! Iterations of exisitng products you'd like to see
A kit that makes it possible to rack the O-Ctrl in a more official, non-hack version. Or perhaps a dedicated rack module version if converting from the current out-of-the-box setup is too tricky.

I am also very desperate for Elektron to release the OT2 and take my money. The recent update to the Digi and last year's "Octatracktober" marketing push from them suggests that it's not all that far off IMO.

Yes!!!
I have a laundry list of my own...
- Erica Black Sequencer with independent patterns per-channel, stage length per-step, and the ability to mute steps with simultaneous encoder presses
- NerdSeq with knobs
- Befaco Rampage with built-in VCAs and 1v/oct tracking
- Befaco Sampling Modulator XL with per-step trig outs and S&H inputs/outputs
- Befaco Muxlicer with switchable modes for analog shift register and S&H
- Arturia RackBrute Travel Bag with plastic instead of wood for the supports
- Tiptop foldable hinge for packing 2x Mantis in a case
- Buchla 248/MARF re-issue in Eurorack (we can dream, right??)
Re: Take my money! Iterations of exisitng products you'd like to see
There's a big resolution limitation of these displays in general beyond the obvious aesthetic nods, is there a better strategy you're aware of?InsectInPixel wrote: ↑Tue Mar 21, 2023 11:32 am I’d pay for a different font for all Elektron displays. Curious if someone's "doing it right" for consistent and clear UI that clicks for ya.

Re: Take my money! Iterations of exisitng products you'd like to see
Am I the only one who wants a 64 voice, 16 track version of Digitone, pretty much the same box with the same UI. I don't want to have to learn new stuff, I just want more. I'd be OK if they could somehow fit in a two octave version of the chiclet KB, though. With a machine like that, I could rule the world!
