Take my money! Iterations of exisitng products you'd like to see
Here's a fun game called "Take my money!"
Iterations of, or sequels to, products currently, or recently, on the market, that you'd like to see
For example
I'd like to see a bi-timbral 8 voice UDO Super 6 with splits and a poly AT keybed

Serge modular in software with output to output patching capability. Cheaper serge hardware as well (looking at you Behringer). Even the euro modules are too expensive (for me anyways). Need a Berge Animal, Boup Kitchen, and BKB.

Akai Force with the tilt screen plus audio and midi connections from the MPC X and the battery from the MPC Live. I wouldn't say no to the speakers from the Live 2. Might create some room for more physical controls, which would be a bonus.

4 voice multitimbral Sledge 2 Black with per-voice outputs, independently assignable mod wheel and aftertouch and a tilt-up control panel.
Good deals with: Eremitalf, ben_hex, matttech, Elevator Sound, Hyberus.

I'd like to see a feature freeze, followed by iterating on a laundry list of MPC bugs that have plagued users since 2.11. It feels like the hardware out there is pretty decent, but has recently been treated rather shabbily by Akai, who seem keener to distract people with shiny paid instruments than fix the fundamentals. Right now, if you want some of the shinier, newer features like probability, you have to tolerate quite a lot of regressions in all sorts of areas from the newer firmware.UnsolicitedDuckPics wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 10:12 am Akai Force with the tilt screen plus audio and midi connections from the MPC X and the battery from the MPC Live. 16 voice Keyboard version of Rossum Assimil8tor with other Modules as the Filters, Panharmonium and Trident included.
Lots of modulation capabilities, top class bendable FX and smart routing.
Thanks!

Re: Take my money! Iterations of exisitng products you'd like to see
for shure one of the best bets !
different ideas come to mind.
I´d see it "for me" as a "jam-sampler".
....even if it would be a just one-voice thing. some more would be cooler ofcourse

Point would be the controls for -realtime-jam- sample manipulation.
and also: the visual feedback on it.
i see it more with just a few pads, and several faders and knobs,
FX NOT inclouded, BUT: send out midi "and/or" CV -> for morph controls.
programm + control (vs. live jam) of these midi/CV Signals from within that jam sampler.
For sale:
Re: Take my money! Iterations of exisitng products you'd like to see
Hydrasynth with a high spec integrated/custom sequencer.
Re: Take my money! Iterations of exisitng products you'd like to see
I'd settle for more CV inputs and outputs.
Re: Take my money! Iterations of exisitng products you'd like to see
New Nord Modular/G2 as a hardware synth with integrated mouse/kybd/video port for use with it's on-board visual Editor so it's completely standalone and doesn't rely on PC connection with the associated future incompatibility risks.
Re: Take my money! Iterations of exisitng products you'd like to see
Something with motorized knobs the way those Melbourne Instruments guys have implemented them in their Nina synth.
FS - Xaoc Batumi+Poti breakout (new in box), Animodule Logicogic/Quad Comparator (new in box), Noise Engineering Cursus Iteritas (mint), Joranalogue Mix 3 (mint) viewtopic.php?t=271469
Re: Take my money! Iterations of exisitng products you'd like to see
Synclavier Regen, but instead of the way it is now, only make it a module/1u rack with no controls. On the front, simply a headphone input, knobs for headphones and volume. On the rear, DIN midi for IN and THRU. 1 usb to interface with the computer for a computer editor and midi. Two balanced outputs only (the additional 1/4" now are both unnecessary and not as good).
They said they didn't want to deal with an editor, but I'd prefer to just use an editor than the interface. For my Prophet 12 module I very rarely use the hardware, just the sound tower editor. Such complicated synths it can just be easier that way. And if you look at the Arturia version, most people don't use the knob interface, but the "computer" alternate interface instead. Simply that would suffice. Of course it wouldn't be the same as the current Arturia because of different features, but it could be a starting point.
They don't need to make their own editor. Add $100 for each unit sold to give Sound Tower or Arturia or someone else to do it. Open it up to help people fans make their own. It's not rocket science. Hell, add $200 for each unit and get two companies to make and maintain their own. You could charge as high as $2,000 for this product and I'd still be more interested than the way it is now (though I may still buy the current Regen at some point).

That would be nice too. I didn't get too deep into those when I had one. I'm planning to re-buy one soon, its such a good synth, I don't think there's anything else quite like it. I'd really like to not need a laptop open in front of me to use it.

Matrix-12 with modern CPU per voice board (instead of 68B09) and new fast modulation algorithms, and probably with 3340 or 3345 for beefier oscillators.
Some kind of Emulator III with 16 voices with 3320 curtis filters (multi mode Elka Synthex implementation), at least 512 mb sample RAM and tons of modulation sources/destinations.
Creamware/Scope Modular IV better optimized for modern DSPs probably with internal keyboard, like Nord G2.

Waldorf Streichfett 2: expanded fx section with a Wet Dry control, control of 2 parameters per fx, a delay, and ability to use 2 fx at a time.
I've already given up on this fantasy and built a pedal board for external fx.

With the new firmware update it looks to be even better than ever, though I haven't installed the new firmware on mine yet. I like it so much I have two

Iteration on Social Entropy Engine.
It's a fantastic tool, works well and fast, and is just generally brilliant.
I want another that is perhaps a little more elaborate, with a few more sequencing tricks (step probability, maybe random velocity, USB master for USB MIDI synths) but on the whole it's hard to improve much on the original.

Re: Take my money! Iterations of exisitng products you'd like to see
i have a pretty stable smaller eurorack case right now, so every single module to have ins and outs on the back of each module so i could keep the perma-routing hidden, break it if i patch the front of the module.
would looooove that to be on every module ever. even if it's super impractical.

You could get an Emu Modular. It has those rear patch points!behndy wrote: ↑Sat Mar 18, 2023 10:42 am i have a pretty stable smaller eurorack case right now, so every single module to have ins and outs on the back of each module so i could keep the perma-routing hidden, break it if i patch the front of the module.

Treat utility modules as stars instead of backup singers.
Treat power supplies like Rockstars instead of roadies!

Now that I think about it...
I'd like to see a revisited Roland Gaia.
The same voice architecture, more-or-less (feel free to add on), with better implementation (less aliasing, etc.), a more flexible multiFX section ...
... and multitimbral, rather than just all those GM layers, so that you can treat it as a Virus competitor.
That would be the dog's proverbials.
