Is there any reason for me to not sell my VT4? The E4 seems like a total upgrade at a cheaper price.

I'd really like to hear them head to head. If I were in your shoes I'd get the E-4 and do that shoot out. Then sell the one that loses.

Had to dig around a bit to find this for the T8. Got to it via the knowledge base part of the support section.

Doesn’t work on iOS. Had to use safari on my laptop to see the links to each section of the manual.

The manuals aren’t great but it’s essential for the J6 (you don’t know what chords are in the slot you have up, unless you’re a big music theory guy with an ear).

Last night I ran the J6, which is decently easy to program once you have the manual in hand, through the Syntakt’s FX block and got a proper side chain pump going…it sounds incredible. Very happy to be adding some big chord progressions into my DAWless jamming/composition.

Update: got a T-8 as well…these are really impressive boxes—build quality, sound quality, features and value. Roland knocked it out of the park here. They’re so much fun while also being surprisingly deep sequencers, and only $200? The only downside is everyone and their mother is going to have these by the end of the year, and I can’t blame them.

I ordered mine from Controlvoltage.net, and it looks like they still have the T-8 and E-4 in stock.

I ordered from SW and they sent me the E-4 already the T-8 and J-6 were ordered in larger quantities so I'm waiting on those. Speaking of I'm having a very hard time finding short colored 3.5mm cables such as the ones at the end of this video. Does anyone know where I could order some?

I think those are Roland cables, just can't seem to find them anywhere. There are also these, 6 pack of 1.5 foot cables in 6 different colors.

That was my thinking and I came up empty handed looking for them. I like the colors. Tip Top Audio has great colors too.

More interested in the J6 than the other 2. Love the fact they’re virtually cousins to Volcas. They were wise to keep them cheap. Kudos on their lithium batteries/USB C. Even Volcas don’t have this feature yet.

I would hope more units will be released later, but not sure what they would be. Mini sampler? FX box? Mixer?

I would love to see a little MC-202 style machine. Sequencer like in the T-8, LFO, and maybe some variation control. Roland M-2.

I’m more interested in the J6 for its chord options. But somewhat curious about the E4. Not sure if I “need” the T-8, but it would be fun to have a minimal groovebox.

OK, after a couple weeks with this thing, I still love it BUT the 303 seems a bit off. I just can't get it quite where I want it with the resonance turned down.

I liked the TB-03 very much but never tried the TB-3, which I believe the T-8 uses (boutique line vs. AIRA line)
Can anybody share their experience/sagacity here?

The E4 samples for 24 sec, I believe. And, sync’d - unlike scooper (but that filter)
I don’t see an fx coming…. Plenty of those about. Volca or Boutique never bothered.

Mixer? Maybe for audio over usb…. But I’d prefer euro rack vca control over a cheap interface.

The j6 doesn’t seem to be able to detune…. I do see master tune… :despair:
Less useful without that. Master tune should do… gotta remember to reset, 🤔

FYI, J6s are available on reverb now. Pro Star Audio

No dedicated Res knob :despair: .. but those key and sequencing modes are :tu:
E4 comes today.. damn it looks fun.

Nice mold for a case… almost Perfect.

The Manual SUCKS!!!!
Is there a way to internally lock the tempo to something other than 130.0 bpm.
The t8 and j6? Seem easy to do, but the e4…. :foul:

How do you change the tempo at all, internally, from 130.0? :hmm:

The audio will record through the mix in, AND the mic in… AND the mic out via trrs? :hmm:

APitch, Harmony, and Vocoder are not available once sampled vs Fx and Scatter? :hmm:

Couple things to figure out… the manual is making me dizzy flipping around on iOS :bang:

But the SONICS…. :tu:
I’ll just Loop one E4 into another to apply the Vocal Freakin’ - if necessary. On the fly sync’d looping/vocoding/delay/reverb… :tu:
This box is really nice.

I might have missed this, but can the E4 scatter live input without recording it as a loop first? I remember Roland's old eurorack scatter module needed to record the input before affecting the sound.
