A little side-story: On the Minimoog App for iOs, there‘s a sound, called Minidrone, which I like very much.
So I started to recreate it on my Subsequent37. In the App there where two effects involved; Bender and Delay.
It worked out quite well. I have no Bender but found a nice workaround.

Yesterday, I switched on the Sub and the effects-unit (Boss GT-100) and thought, „what‘s this sound like? Has nothing to do with the original Minidrone from the App…!?
Then I found out that I coincidentally had changed the preamp-emulation on the Boss…

My point: Sirin, Sub, Voyager and Co all sound different… But once you start working with an amp and effects, you basically end up with an altogether different instrument.

I started on a Crumar DS-2 and always hear people say, that they do not like its sound. Well I played it on the same tube-amp than my GEM organ and always loved the sound of it.

Might sound like blasphemy to some. But who plays a synth ‚unplugged‘? ;)

^ All true. If I play my Arturia MicroFreq through my Ampeg VT-22 and Sunn 18" PA cabinet, it sounds way beefy/alive compared to straight into my mixer.

Mmmm the DS-2. A shop had one here for $600 in '08. I had no money and wasn't playing synth then but it stuck with me. That thing was fun when I tried it.

I heard through the grape vine that due to the chip shortage production of subsequent 37s might end. So if you are thinking about getting one just a heads up to do it while you still can!

they are definitely stopping the upgrades to the Subsequent from the Sub37 per Moog.. so yeah, time to decide what you want..
