CRAP Programmer

Buchla, Serge, Studio.h, Northern Light Modular, Keen Assoc., 1979, Vedic Scapes, etc. Usually expensive, often found sniffing corks.
Be sure to look into MANUFACTURER SUB-FORA as well..

Looking at the new yummy 'CREPES' panel ;)

It seems the left-right jack and clock jack should be swapped. This puts the left-right jack on the same row as the switches involved in left right decisions.

The two knobs should follow their respective LEDs. If the preset LEDS are on the left, the knob to select preset should also be to the left. My crappy inet bandwidth allowance won't let me review the video until next month, so this may already be taken care of.

edit: Absent of knowing -remembering! which way things are now, I'd put "preset" to the left since "pre" implies "before" and we live in the West where reading is left to right. This also keeps "left-right" in its original position, and allows the input associated with the "Address"knob to remain connected without 'blocking' the Left-Right visual connection.
----------------
I also always look for convenient 3/4" shorting bar possibles during a banana layout, but don't see any here.

You could simply eliminate pulse from both. Leaving "Active Stage Output" and "Select Stage Input"

This allows you -as a designer- latitude over time in what you can do with these jacks. irregardless of that, both say exactly the truth.

While a stage is active, there's an output. And when you patch something into the other, it selects the stage. If the edge crossing parameters are met,
Red Jacks already inform part of the story.
there we go, conventions are good for something! that's what I'll do. Neither pulse nor gate are really true all the time so... drop it....

hmmmmm
joke names are for prototypes is what I have decided :)
Complex Resettable Event Presettable Electromotive Source IS pretty good tho....
Ha! Love it.

How bout Complex RE-settable Preset Event Source ? ..you can get the RE from REset ;)

Using most of DKsynths new name on the 2nd proto panel, we can easily GRASP a new moniker.

Generally Recursive Addressable Sequencing Programmer.

Alt: Recirculating for Recursive.

Not that it matters, but I like CREPES better.

Programmer for LW format 4U modular

8 column, 4 row
Vertical sequencer with CLOCK and RESET
TIE and SKIP options per step
HOLD, RESET and PRESET for the horizontal sequencer
Preset Address
Gate Select IN and active stage OUT
Goes both ways
This is very cool ... any plans to make it available in 5U?

Yes. I live near a 5U maker/designer and we are working on an expanded version. Adding some fuctions that 5U users expect to have onboard. onboard clocking oscillator, that kind of thing.

(something got changed or moved and I missed it)

re: bridgeable connections, I DID realize something silly I forgot to change. PRESET and RESET are now both one shots/edge detectors as I didn't think they should be combined with any kind of hold function when a HOLD jack is already present. They will be above and below the HOLD jack so that a shorting bar easily gives you hold on preset or hold on reset behaviour.

This looks incredible. Loving the Buchla 245 dna mixed with the Serge and your own influence. It appears equally suited for sequencing and tactile control.
Will this be diy only or is there a chance prebuilt modules will become available?

Even if i had to lose a stage on each module, i would love two of these in one boat.

first little run is going to be all pre-built. DIY will follow.

maybe a 8 stage and a 4 stage is possible but... will be a ways down before I get to making variants, trying to get caught up on everything I've started and hoooooooo boy it's a full kettle. It pairs really well with O_C/Clee Quantizer and a clock source for the extra slots!

no worries, stick to the script - 8 stage is a killer place to start!

I would be interested in a diy kit for LW format.
Subscribed and good luck with the progress!

+1 bumping for serious interest on the kit, and to give mad props to dksynth for blessing us with this design

I’m super excited to see what other people do with it! AND to refine things with an eye towards a touch-capable 16 step version... but the main goal is to bless MYSELF with these designs  once I’m happy with it then other folks get to play with my experiments

Arriving late here but, WOW!
This is great, really dreamy mods. Just the right ratio of Buchla to Serge. I would definitely buy a kit if/when it comes available. Also interested in the idea of a 16 step/ TKB version.
