WFMU indeed. Hopefully more crowded than messy. I prefer to think of it as a cockpit/womb. The MAQ came like that with a bent corner😉- I just added the Selcos. I love em and put them on everything, like ketchup.

If anyone is interested. You can find some things I recorded over the last two days, in my 3amnoise link below. I really hope to do a video or two sometime soon.
A lot of nice patches in there, from the Serge and beyond.

Thirty-four panels. And no TKB? :hmm: :despair:

3 sequencer programmers with buttons, but I agree, visually it needs TKB's. Tons of functionality in the Arturia keystep and I have 8 separate MIDI channels with quantizers. There are 20 more panels waiting for cabinets to be built, and the search continues for a reasonably priced TKB or two.

Know anybody with a couple of TKB kits ?

I think it should be called Spectre.

Certainly it's a wall of sound.
The James bond, DC comics and original meaning of spectre all fit with the fog machine and gargoyles too.

Still like 'Arose for you', though. Which also fits your Fists of Baal vibe. Sweet smelling Rose with thorns to hurt you.

And now, ladies and gentlemen, Ed Brock and Spectre..

Worked for ELP. "Only spectres still have pity" Can you live on a knife edge?

Flipper16 – I don’t have a list that is easy to post, but it is made up of mainly CGS modules, Serge and otherwise, with the panels layouts adapted to the 73-75 style hieroglyphics done in paperface. I think I built just about every CGS module there is, usually in many multiples and some with modifications, plus I added some others such as Yusynth quad LFO (to pan dual stereo mixers into a quad output), a bunch more Yusynth modules, a dual Benjolin, a bunch of O’scopes, a few MFOS goodies and some others. I posted a close up of one panel so you can see the graphics more clearly. Just imagine most every Serge module out there done in 73-75 format.

Levelhead3 - I used one Power One hcc15-3-ag per box. Each panel has a daisy chained harness which plugs into a CGS74 power distribution board (four in total). No extra filtering caps and I don’t have any spill over from noisy modules into the system to my surprise because there are many with a lot of LEDs and noisy circuits. Each module on the panel can be isolated for troubleshooting, and I put all the PCBs on hinged standoffs mounted on ¼ inch aluminum bars for easy access to the underside.

Mixers: I have 2 more outboard mixers for this system off to the side of the picture, and there are about 15 other mixers on the panels plus a few matrix mixers as well as things like dual processors that can be used as mixers. Each box has 6 outputs of 1/4 jacks or RCA jacks in the back so the front panels don't get too cluttered with outputs to mixers or the computer. These are hardwired to the adapters on the front panels. That will be 34 hardwired outputs in total, that go into four or five external (quad) mixers and/or direct outs into the DAW. I like using multiple smaller mixers rather than a bigger one so that I have more channel flexibility into the DAW.

J3RK – ‘The Fists of Baal’ – I love it ! Did you intend to give a nod to John DuVal’s Serge named Fist of God ?

KSS – I have been nominally calling it Goliath since one of my other big ones (5U – 16 feet wide, 7’4” tall) is called Mongo. Mongo and Goliath. Still undecided… (Little Timmy is hilarious)

Now, THAT is one hell of a synth! If all 34 panels were patched all at once as some kind of generative, related game-of-life-style system, that might potentially be such a large patch that you'd never hear all of it.

Flipper16 -

'The Kepler Mission' track was made with the first box on the right. The funky bassline with the crazy time signature, the percussion that sounds like 'Buchla Bongos', and the white noise snare were made on this system. The 73-75 "Envelopes" are tricky to control and are unlike a typical envelope, but give crazy rhythms with odd envelopes to filters that are unlike anything else I have ever used.

'Two Moons Passing in The Night' also uses the same system. I added traditional orchestra instruments and some sparse percussion on top.

'Spacetime Singularity' also uses this 73-75 Envelope to get an unusual sequence

'Mystical Horses' - Ditto. The percussive sequences are the same as the melodic 'string' lead lines but with a short attack and release and a delay added in.

'Pleiades' uses a few different improvisations on the system that I remixed & rearranged to build the track

I think I used this system on other tracks on the Ultrawonk albums, but I would have to go back and check.

I haven't done anything yet that is published using the other two boxes, I just finished them recently.

I hope you like the tracks,

Ed
