Hi all, I bought a "factory" EC and perhaps this is my misunderstanding but I am observing something that doesn't seem right:

1. Module boots up with rainbow LEDs.
2. All LEDs subsequently flash red, blue, green.
3. Twisting any encoder causes the LEDs to turn white.
4. Long pressing any encoder appears to do nothing. No change in the red, blue, green, blinking.
5. Pressing the F button causes the top circle to flash white, then the middle, then the bottom continuously until F is tapped again.
6. Long-pressing F appears to do nothing.

I've tried pressing holding the middle encoder on setting 16 to try to reset all setting, but there is no feedback from the module and circle 1 and 3 continue flashing red, blue green even while circle two is at sixteen and encoder two is held.

Hi there,

sorry for that, the unit seems to have shipped in production test mode.

to exit that:

- turn the three encoders so all rings are white
- press the three encoders so that the buttons light white
- press the F-button
- wait 3s

Received the kit from SynthCube and assembled over the Easter weekend, great fun!
It worked almost perfectly on first power-up, just had to touch up one of the LED pads

Only slight complaint is the kit didn't include any nuts for the jacks, I've got a bunch spare though so it's not a problem.
I would encourage anyone who's unsure about the SMD soldering to give it a go, it's not as hard as it looks.

Also... I'm new here... hi :)

Is there any sort of way to CV the pattern? Maybe just a trigger signal to change? This module seems amazing for a performance, but I'd like to have some CV control over this. This would replace my Zularic Repetitor if the Euclidean Circles can receive CV.

No CV in at all. That's its main limitation.

I believe PNW and Disting provide CV control over Euclidean Rhythms.

Also DNIPro DOT. Made my own version of that, it's awesome.

well, for the kit contents, that's under Synthcube control. I won't comment on the choice of knobs ;)

I still have two little questions:
1: do you have a mouser item number appropriate switches for the six switches?
Sorry this is much too late, but maybe it'll help others (maybe you could also put it on the first page of the thread?): After ordering 2 times wrong switches, I finally found the right ones. For future reference, reading the datasheet carefully takes time, but indeed helps a lot, everything is in there :)

Love this module! I think the answer is 'no' but is it possible to set a clock division per channel? I feel quite limited with the fixed clock for all 6 channels.. any tips or hint at possible update? Thanks

it's on my long term todo list :) if only this chip crisis could be over so I could spend my days with other stuff than hunting parts....

Thank you for the quick answer. Good to know it may be coming in the future. I wasn't aware of the chip crisis... good luck with the hunting!

Is the FW of this module available somewhere? The build guide says yes but I cannot find it ;)

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Due to the current semiconductor parts shortage, I am unable to source the needed parts to sell ZeroScope and Euclidean Circles PCB + panel sets (and if I get some they have to go into built modules, sorry).

So for the time being, all of the DIY offerings from vpme.de are out of stock :deadbanana:

I cannot tell you when DIY will resume, please refrain from sending me DMs and emails asking this very question - I will announce it here for sure ;)

I ordered the panel + PCB set from SynthCube and somehow got a v2 faceplate but a v1.9a back PCB

Has this happened to anyone else? I’m a bit bummed because I ordered all of the needed parts for the v2 version.

Can I send an irregular trigger pattern to "clock" Euclidean Circles? Can I send it a clock with swing?

Hi.

When I click the top encoder, the game of PONG appears and the paddles are controller by voltages or the encoders. Only rarely does it go into "menu mode". I don't see PONG mentioned anywhere about Zeroscope, so I suspect I soldered something wrong and it is in a debug/test mode.

Aside from this and the encoders occasionally not being responsive, the scope seems to work. Oh, and often the device boots up in "firmware loader" mode.

I consider myself a novice in soldering and this is the first surface mount modules I've attempted. I've made a bunch of Synthrotek and Befaco modules of "medium/advanced" difficulty with zero issues. None of those modules had surface mount parts.

When trying to troubleshoot this (which will be me unsoldering everything and re-doing it more carefully) is there an are of the board I should focus on? I've looked at other hi rez photos of the board and mine matches us, resistor wise. (It's hard to tell about the capacitors.)

Thanks!

your top encoder push action is "stuck", so check for a short to GND on the highlighted trace. it might be a tiny scratch on the solder mask and too much solder on that encoder pin, so try to remove some with desolder wick. of course also the encoder itself might be faulty.

i re-soldered the encoders (again) and i seem to be in business. thanks for your guidance!
