Thank you WMDevices. You have been very accommodating. I'll try this out!

Re: WMD Sequential Switch Matrix
Hi there,
Is It possible to send, for example, cv from input 1 OR input 2 to output 1 OR output 2. In other words, can you step through the inputs AND the outputs at the same time?
Or is the ‘active’ input allways sent to all outputs at the same time?

Any input can by assigned to any output at each state.

Re: WMD Sequential Switch Matrix
Ha! I hope this means it's finally available again in EU.
Looking forward to the ‘new’ SSM

I just bought one at Schneidersladen
They now sell the black version, they just haven't updated the photo on their site yet. Confirmed by them via e-mail

I also picked one up just recently. I was really skeptical at first when I plugged it in, thinking maybe I made a mistake... But after a couple of days my brain has adjusted and its probably one of the most dynamic modules in my setup now. Holy shit. This is a game changer for my case

Because it allows me to reroute audio paths rhythmicallyPowerdwarf wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 4:46 pmcan you expand? whyosten wrote: ↑Fri Aug 06, 2021 3:14 pm I also picked one up just recently. Re: WMD Sequential Switch Matrix
I just thought I would like to try out or buy a matrix mixer to my rack. Than I just started to think about, maybe I can make one from WMD SSM which I have and one of my VCAs or mixers. What would be the idal module next to the SSM to have a cool matrix mixer and how would you patch it ?
Re: WMD Sequential Switch Matrix
I have a Happy Nerding 3XMIA next to it, which isn't quite ideal, but is also sandwiched by the ADE-Octocontroller on the other side. They are all good friends.
Re: WMD Sequential Switch Matrix
Hey guys so having been into Eurorack for just over a year I feel like I've gotten to grips with the concept of a lot of the different types of function generators and utilities, however, I'm yet to use nor fully understand neither matrix mixers nor sequential switches (although the latter seems pretty simple). I've watched a lot of videos on the WMD SSM and love all of the stuff that is created via the module. However, I have no idea what's going on really.
Would anybody be kind enough to explain to an idiot some basic patches and what all the numbers mean (I don't really understand the routing of the signals that you input, 1-1, 1-2, 1-3 etc).
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out and inevitably help me empty my wallet.

Re: WMD Sequential Switch Matrix
You have 4 ins and 4 outs
Any input can be routed to any output (routing)
Any input can be routed to more than one output (multiple)
Any number of inputs can be routed to any one output (mixer)
Examples:
Input 1 - drum loop
Output 1 - dry sound
Output 2 - to delay
Output 3 - to distortion
Output 4 - to reverb
Input 1 - square lfo
Input 2 - triangle lfo
Input 3 - random voltages
Output 1 - filter cutoff
Output 2 - osc pitch
So the matrix buttons are kinda lime patch cables
So button 1-2 routes input 1 to output 2
Etc

Re: WMD Sequential Switch Matrix
Ah thanks a lot, so it's incredibly simple in reality. I wonder if in reality I actually need it as I can do all of the things it does with my other equipment although I have no doubt the work flow of this thing would spark some crazy things very easily that maybe wouldn't be as simple otherwise. Definitely one for the future.drxcm wrote: ↑Wed May 11, 2022 2:28 am You have 4 ins and 4 outs

Re: WMD Sequential Switch Matrix
you can also use it as a programmable mult or mute if you want to start somewhere even simpler
Re: WMD Sequential Switch Matrix
hi, I just picked up one of these. is it possible to route audio from two different sources to one destination and NOT have this thing overload? I'd love to not have to watch attenuation at every step of the game here.
Re: WMD Sequential Switch Matrix
werks for my use case, but maybe use a 4 channel pre vca? manual says it clips at +/- 5v and it's basically just a unity mixer
Re: WMD Sequential Switch Matrix
weird, the online blurb says "These inputs accept bipolar +-10V signals before clipping" is there a new rev?
Re: WMD Sequential Switch Matrix
ah, no i'm just a victim of poor reading comprehension / badly synced eye-brain connection
anyway i've never experienced significant signal distortion when mixing audio

Re: WMD Sequential Switch Matrix
It mixes at unity gain, and the opamps will distort at +-10V. So if you run several super hot signals and mix them, yes it will distort. +-10V is pretty hot signal though, and is where most things will clip in eurorack. I suggest you try your idea and see if it's an issue.

Re: WMD Sequential Switch Matrix
I'm just getting it with normal Eurorack signals. Like straight from my DPO or Braids for example. I just can't mix more than one audio signal to more than one output. Weird.
