Djupviks Elektronik modules + system thread

Post by Addam »

The one sound clip I could find (and the spirit of the other modules by this maker) makes it sound a little more interesting than just noise into 3 BP filters in series. Anyone have any time with one of these yet? Interested in any impressions or additional sounds.

UPDATE to make this a Djupviks system sorta thread since (in my mind) these modules, as much or more than any other maker's, look like they belong together.

Here are some already existing module specific threads so as to not hijack everything:
DE-9 Box of Angels
DE-8 Beneath the Bush of Ghosts (Quad lofi sampler)
DE-3 Bristol Bloodhound MkI -Sine osc with wave mult
DE-2 Bunker Archeology
DE-4 GBU-12 Paveway II
DE-5 Shakti: 4hp Noinput mixer
DE-6 Nödsignal

Mine arrived last week; I've only had a few hours to fiddle around with it, but so far I'm impressed. My primary use case is self-oscillation vs using it as a filter, and in that capacity it is pretty rewarding. Feed it slow/weird LFOs (e.g., Triple Sloths/Ochd mashedup) and treat it like a voice.

Great, thanks! That’s basically what I was hoping to hear- probably gonna go for it. Thinking this plus Shakti, bunker architecture, paveway and nodsignal might make for a fun and abrasive mini drone system.

Isn't there a regular homepage for this maker? I haven't seen any, and I don't get involved with "social media" crap like IG or FB.

I'm asking because I'd like to know a little more, as the YT video is so heavy on delay, it's really hard to tell what's underneath it all...

I don't think there is a site. But he posts here, even started a thread for this in the DIY section, but never adds much to the title--not even "Djupviks", so it's easy to miss his threads. Would probably get more traction if he add the type of module to the title, since the names are cryptic.

Ah yeah I know I did a search but still missed that one.

Paging Dr Djupviks (@Jonachi) - want me to change the topic title to just "Djupviks Elektronik" and make this a catch all thread for the system in general? Also would love to see some real basic half page user guides (ex "bipolar CV in here" etc). I might be an odd case but I'd rather stare at a photo of a module than watch a video to get a sense of how it might work ;)

I'd second the recommendation to make this a catch-all thread. I'd also love to hear from anyone else using Beneath the Bush of Ghosts in their compositions - it's a terrific module with tremendous potential, especially if you can puzzle out how to automate it via CV.

Hello all. Missed this thread but posted a proper BOA demo earlier today.

Ask me anything and feel free to rename this to Djupviks Elektronik if you want to! 🤍❤️🤍❤️

Another for making this a thread for all Djupviks Elektronik modules!

I got a Beneath the Bush of Ghosts last week and love it! Haven't had much chance to explore it just yet but it's fantastic st creating lofi textural loops, which is exactly what I was hoping for. The built in filters are an excellent feature!

Right on. First post updated. If I missed any other module specific threads to link feel free to shout 'em out.

Having not yet played with any of these, I'd love to see an audio feedback focused/friendly take on a matrix mixer - maybe with soft limiters or waveshapers or something.

I haven't been considering Bush of Ghosts since I assumed the clicking at loop points would drive me nuts but maybe I should open my mind a little. :zen:

And also DE-13 will be out real soon. It is called Star Maker and is an "organic scanning stereo mixer" of sorts.. More soon.

DE-10-DE12 are all near completion and I have about 10 more modules besides that that I'm working on currently (in different stages of development I might add), even more inside my head. If you are into what I'm doing you'll have plenty to look forward to I suppose.

Oh and DE-3 will be discontinued after the last 2 kits sells out over at thonk!

I love them! More interesting material to feed into further processing for more textural potential. I like to use the high pass to bring them out more before I run them through delays and granular processing :zen:

I think so, I sent them a package a about a month ago that was sent back t me, resent it about 2-3 weeks ago and just heard it got there. Might already be up on the page? At least I think I saw Beneath the Bush of Ghosts the other day. Write them and ask but should ebe up soon. They donät order large quantities so act fast.
