Clouds knobs different than they sound be

Post by TinyTacoChip »

So, I bought a clouds second-hand. It's a real unit, not a DIY one. But the knobs seem to be wrong. The texture is just a filter, the density seems to be doing what I would think the stereo spread is. When I select the spread (2nd LED) the blend knob does nothing. The feedback and reverb sound pretty much the same. I've tried pretty much everything and made sure I'm on the granular setting (1st LED). Loaded on the original firmware and reset it. Still nothing. Any ideas?

Edit: Figured it out. I was only holding the button for 1 second when switching modes. So I was actually switching record sample rates. not modes. held it for 5 seconds and finally got it to work. Would have thought resetting it would have tossed it to the first one. Well... User error... pie in face...

That kind of thing happens to most (probably all) of us at one time or another. It’s just part of the process, and we learn from it. So be kind to yourself—no pies needed.

The title of this thread made me wonder,

What does a knob sound like? 😉

Glad you got it sorted.

No worries, I spent about an hour last week trouble shooting a midi chain going to my Prophet. Took me WAY too long to realize the volume was turned all the way down….
