aluminum silver front panel, 3 black 1 white pushbutton-preferably black logo(depending on the color of the logo), normal paypal on your homepage and my xbox alu controller joystick cap (if this fits -my xbox cap came from UK)….. Except for the aluminum front panel and paying with normal paypal, everything would be possible :zen:

hmm.. I think it might not fit with the Xbox cap…. At least that's what I think about this picture :poke:
…. or carefully saw off the lower part and then grind and polish ;) when you have nothing else to do ;)

The little expander you can buy lets you do the four banks separately (i.e. multitimbral) via CV.

As mentioned above, the expander can do what you’re asking… however, all 4 channels share the same envelope so the drum kit might not work the way you might hope. Hopefully envelopes could be per channel in the future.

In the meantime, you could send audio out of the 2x outputs and into a VCA and control it that way… but, there seems to be a little latency and the pitch change seems to happen a touch later than the gate which controls the external envelope (I’m hoping this could be addressed in a FW update). A gate delay works to get things sounding tighter. (Note, it’s tight if everything is done in module.)

This got me thinking so I had a go.

Full patch notes and observations are in the notes on the Instagram page.

TL:DR You kind of can use it as a CV driven, 4 channel drum voice but its limited, isn't totally obvious to patch up and isn't really what it was designed to do best.

However..........

If you use midi to drive it, you can do a lot more with just one global amp envelope because the mod slots are freed up for other stuff

Hi

We have a BETA firmware available to download from our webshop which has the following fixes and updates:

- MULT Mode now has Separate Envelope settings for each Bank ! [ Current Bank Envelope is indicated/selected by the Red oscillator Bank button ]
- BANK LEDs indicate triggers in Mult Mode
- bug fixed that caused freezes with FM and MULT mode
- bug fix Expander CVs were not read if MIDI was on
- Expander Gates inputs are scanned more frequently [ better for high freq short gates pulses]

Use at your own risk, it is not yet a relase candidate !
Please message or mail us with any feedback or issues concerning the firmware

This is sweet!

Very quick first test after installing the beta (hence unlisted video) 3 independent voices driven from SIG. 3 independent amp envelopes.

Game changer :hail:

(Off subject) Those knobs you put on your sig.. does that make it any better? Looks like it would be worse, knobs so close together you probably can’t turn them form minimum to max in one sweep.
I was considering some of these for mine https://www.thonk.co.uk/shop/tall-trimmer-toppers/

They work fine for me but ymmv. I’ve got quite big hands so really don’t get on at all with mini pots on a relatively small panel. I’d used these Davies knobs to convert trimmers on other kit and really liked them. They are quite tightly spaced but I don’t find them as uncomfortable as the pots on their own.

There’s a closeup of them in this thread

https://modwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic ... 4#p3509234

The tall trimmers weren’t available when I got my SIG.

Later in that thread someone says that the tall trimmers don’t fit tightly enough on the SIG pots. I dunno how accurate that is :despair:

Quick note. After installing the beta I thought the 1v/oct inputs on the expander sounded a bit out so recalibrated it. Sounds fine again now.

Loving the new firmware-- the added envelopes make a big difference if you have the expander, and I really like the trigger indicator lights on the Bank LEDs. Really looking forward to seeing what you come up with next re: firmware updates.

I thought I'd follow up with the issue I had with the joystick. Turns out there was an issue with mine and RYK went above and beyond to make things right. They sent me a new module ahead of me returning mine back to them. Such a great level of trust and commitment to their customers. I salute you.

The new joystick is silky smooth and the new firmware is super fresh! :goo:

Pardon me, but is there a way to make the Vector Wave drone like a traditional osc? I'm not sure if I'm missing something in the manual...

It drones by default unless you plug something into the "Gate" jack.

If it’s not free running, you’re probably in multimode or have midi input activated. That’s caught me out a few times now.

Hey all,
I recorded this the same day I received the VW which is running in Mult mode (my fav). This module is so deep and complex - I am glad I made this impulse buy when I preordered.
Also, two thumbs up for the RYK crew; I stumbled upon a bug on a Sunday and it was fixed within
like 4 hours. Customer service at its best, I
am more than impressed.

Thanks for watching!

Very excited about this thing!
I've assembled a kit, but have an intermittent short between -12V and ground...
This may not be the place to ask, but is there any part of the board where I was more likely to cause that?
It occurred after final assembly, and then disappeared after I took all the jack screws and the panel off, so it seems to be exacerbated by board flex...
I'll start by inspecting and resoldering everything.
I hope I'm up and running soon!

Hi

Send us some pics of your pcb via DM or website message, and we can take a look at
you PCB.
PS probably better to start a thread in the DIY forum group for kit build

Is it just me, or is the output amplitude of the Vector on the low side using MIDI? Tried to get it to be as loud as possible, but still the output is plenty lower than Plaits, for instance.

Probably just missing a setting..
