Cwejman, Doepfer, Erica, MakeNoise, Mutable instruments, TipTop Audio, Analogue Solutions, and much more! The world’s most popular format.
Be sure to look into MANUFACTURER SUB-FORA as well..
I am following up on comments I made upthread about using the 245T with Qu-Bit Nano Rand v2, which is a clock module but also comprises other functions, and Doepfer A-160-2 clock divider. I made a 2-minute demo of a patch with all three modules that produces a varied, not-immediately-looping sequence I find useful and enjoyable as a basis for a larger patch.
I have the 245T patched to the 1V/Oct input of the 258T to make the sequence audible. The full description of the patch is in the video description, and the video contains embedded annotations.
Just got the 258t. The hype on the sound of this module is real. Amazing price/sound-features-build quality.
Spoke to the dealer in Greece and apparently it is not possible to bring the vactrol version in the EU. Even if he imports make noise modules with vactrols, it’s just not an option for the TipTop module.
So next module purchase looks like end of the year for the EU/UK release of the 292t.
I've already posted this in the Three Body thread but it might be of interest here as I've been doing some silly thing with the 245t and 266t in this last video of mine ;-)
I feel that this little pod with the 245t and 266t can make any CV gear turn to the west coast!
Cheers! I am still in the honeymoon with the 258t. I missed out on the first batch and I only got recently.
It just puts a smile on my face when it comes out the speakers.
So long thread, so I apologize if this has been covered. Has there been a comparison to the sputnik modules? I have most of a full set of them and am wondering if I should sell them and save some cash buy switching to the TTA versions. The sputniks can be kind of finicky, especially the wcrs (source of uncertainty) so are these better behaved? The sputniks are fine within themselves but they often don’t play great with the rest of my rack.

I believe the only remark in this thread was that sputnik might use 0-5V range and the tiptop buchla is 0-10V. I pretty much only use the buchla t with itself or where there are attenuators on inputs (optomix). Am looking forward to the 292t primarily because I think every voltage just working together nicely is a bigger selling point than the sound-- we will see about the sound, but optomix sets a high bar!
Cheers!
First 3 rows on the 245t control 258t pitch (through Doepfer A-151 Sequential Switch and Disting mk1 for quantisation).
Stage 5 on the245t advances the Doepfer A-151 Sequential Switch.
4th row controls 245t Internal Time.
The amount of modulation of the 4th row to Internal Time is what makes the whole thing go from 15 steps (3 rows x 5 steps) with 0 modulation to 3 steps (3 steps on the A-151) but because of the way Internal Time is being modulated, you get the extra fast, strummed like notes.
Disting mk1 trig out pings the Optomix and triggers the 281t that controls 258t VCO1 waveshape.

awesome, the interplay btwn two different concurrent tempos makes it interesting. in some ways it reminds me of running two different modulated clocks to x and y inputs on my old Rene.
thanks for the detailed rundown, always something new to learn
Well crap. I just ordered my first module in this series. The dual oscillator. Guess I will have 5 more modules pulling at me subconscious screaming "Buy me. You gotta have me. You cannot resist."
I'm wondering if I was to buy a 292t (Vactrol version) from a US or Canadian shop and had it shipped to the UK, would it be allowed into the country? If it could get into the country, what is the import duty like these days? 20%?

I've had three Toppobrillo modules shipped over from the USA in the two years and have paid no import duty. Possible I've been very lucky.
Cheers. Did you get them after Brexit? Which shop did you use!
