Any input is OK with anything in between +/-12V. The END output swings from ~0-5V, the OUTput can swing from about -11 to +11V, GATE and S(H) thresholds (what is seen as 'HIGH") are set at about 1.2V, the COMPARATOR output swings ~+/-5V, and as mentioned- CYCLE range is jumper selectable. You can also self- patch ~0-5V cycling, by taking the END out and patching it to the INPUT... hope your curiosity has been satisfied!

Re: Toppobrillo Sport Modulator 2 – how to use?
I realise it’s probably a very mundane use of a very powerful module, of which I’ve barely started to scratch the surface, but is there a way it can be used to derive a clock from audio pulses, kind of like this?
WTB:
Veils (pre-2020)
TipTop stackable cables (cyan/yellow/blue)
FS:
Arturia Beatstep Pro (white) - £150 + shipping
Antumbra 6MIX - £75 + shipping
Kassutronics Slope 2 - £110 + shipping

you mean, like setting it to cycling and using the [end] gate as a clock?BWBKc6VyUr wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 3:31 pm I realise it’s probably a very mundane use of a very powerful module, of which I’ve barely started to scratch the surface, but is there a way it can be used to derive a clock from audio pulses, kind of like this?

for adjustment, the slew rate control on the top channel will control timing, and running a voltage offset into the bottom channel will control the threshold for when it triggers a clock pulse
if i could put it into words what would i need music for
and the woo woos go woo woo

a precision adder aint nothin but a fancy summing mixer

Tried the ”triple rhythm generator” patch today. That was cool. Would never have figured it out on my own.

Ive not really tried the RVG patch / CUPL switch before, but it got lovely results with an lfo as input (noise was good but liked this) love the gate patterns it generated from CUPL
(LPG pluck is the Takaab passive 2xLPG in 2hp - nice)

Anything can be complicated, simplicity is hard.

Ooh could you drop the patch notes for this one. I'm obsessed.wonkychris wrote: ↑Tue Apr 11, 2023 1:34 pm Ive not really tried the RVG patch / CUPL switch before, but it got lovely results with an lfo as input (noise was good but liked this) love the gate patterns it generated from CUPL

Ha! Well it looks like theres a lot going on there - but I had a really big patch going on another tune but just fancied a break and patched this up on sport modesmooov wrote: ↑Tue Apr 11, 2023 2:28 pmOoh could you drop the patch notes for this one. There's an 'lfo' going on a cycling Quadra channel into the top Sport Mod Channel input. CUPL switch is on as you can see and the cycling switch on lower channel is down/off.
Top channel out is going to a pitched channel on squid salmple's pitch v/Oct input. That channel is going to input on a Takaab LPG
LPG CV input has the output from CUPL/comparator hitting it.
LPG into echophon and I think that's about it.

Re: Toppobrillo Sport Modulator 2 – how to use?
Here's another patch that's just Sport Mod2, a clock divider and a single cycling exponential Quadra envelope
Everything you hear is from the CUPL output.
Top and bottom channels are cycling. End of bottom channel goes to a clock divider at /8, output of that goes to gate on top channel (sort of provides the hi rhythms. Quadra envelope to CV in on bottom channel makes kick sound - there is no 'sync' with this it's just a free running LFO so not related to the Sport Mod2 channels.
Very grimey techno

Re: Toppobrillo Sport Modulator 2 – how to use?
What (let's say non-obvious) differences, or what different results have people been getting between Sport Mod 2, SSG, and GTO? Does anyone have experience with all three? I'm enjoying the SM2, but I know it has some borrowed lineage and GTO just came out which expands on that original lineage and I'm trying to think of not so apparent differences/use cases.
Re: Toppobrillo Sport Modulator 2 – how to use?
what is a GTO, please?

Oh brilliant, I never thought of listening to the CUPL output.wonkychris wrote: ↑Sat Apr 15, 2023 1:11 am Here's another patch that's just Sport Mod2, a clock divider and a single cycling exponential Quadra envelope

Not sold out. Available here (now with a nice user manual):analogbrainsurgeon wrote: ↑Sat Apr 15, 2023 10:28 amThe Serge GTO is a new, just released and currently sold out, improvement on the SSG. The SSG, as I understand it, was the inspiration for the Sport Mod.![]()
