Last Three Modules Purchased
Re: Last Three Modules Purchased
SIG - dense and lot to learn.
Shakmat Dual Dagger - got the kit and built it, think its calibrated properly, it does something so guess it will be handy.
ALM MFX - just arrived so not had too much play time, so far so good, like the new firmware 104, even thought the site says 102...

Intellijel passive LPG (1U) - great addition to my palette case - tiny footprint and sounds great
Intellijel 1u VCO - mostly use this as a clock and LFO but works fantastically well in lots of scenarios
Random Source Donks 4x4 - to bring a little bit of Buchla magic to my 4U Serge set up.

I was lucky enough to snag some dream modules from the MI clearance! MI Stages, Tides, and Elements. The modular gods shined upon me!

Re: Last Three Modules Purchased
Joranalogue Step 8
- excellent paired with Acid Rain Maestro for "controlled random" sequencing. Typical top notch quality from Joranalogue, well thought out and compact with many additional features vs the Doepfer A-152.
Michigan Synth Works F8R Faderbank
- to pair with the Doepfer Octal VCA, does exactly what's expected.
4ms SCM Plus
- the updated one, seems excellent so far paired with a sampler. Not a fan of the plastic pots, but I guess they're fine ... not had one break yet in several years of usage on other modules.

Thanks for keeping in the spirit of the original post/thread. A little explanation goes a long way. Pretty much the gist of the thing.ZenPunkHippy wrote: ↑Sat Dec 10, 2022 11:54 am Joranalogue Step 8

Interesting to see the complexity of modules has increased over time.
So many choices these days - we are blessed (by electronics).

Re: Last Three Modules Purchased
No third module unfortunately, but I put these here as I'm not planning to order any modules in the near future. Brenso landed as a trade & got Plaits just to try the new firmware. Alas it was a long day since Plaits arrived this morning and couldn't get to update the firmware. I was sleeping on Plaits having Microfreak connected and processed by my rack should yield quite similar results, but the brief time I spent with it during lunch break got me impressed by the amount of stuff it adds to my humble rack.DukeOfPrunes wrote: ↑Fri Dec 16, 2022 3:17 pmIndeed! Brenso on the other hand arrived earlier this week and has been a sonic bliss. My first analog complex oscillator, and the jazziest oscillator I have played with. I expected to be a harsher, more chaotic complex oscillator sound yet it surprised me how great it sounds with mellow tones.

Re: Last Three Modules Purchased
It's one of the most unique modules. Besides being a really great sounding filter, it benefits from crazy experimentation, like self-patching it all over the place. It's fun to get it into generative states where it will sequence through a wild variety of sounds unlike any you have ever heard before.61050 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 03, 2022 11:31 pm wmd synchrodyne

gotta say, this synchrodyne is one of the gnarliest vcos ive ever owned. i may be a bit late to the party, but its quickly becoming a favorite. this was one of the modules that first got me interested in modular to begin with, but i never did pick one up. shame it took the company going under to finally get me to pull the trigger. :(

Starting with the most recent:
vpme Quad Drum Voice - wow, just wow.
uGrids (Mutable Instruments clone)
Hertz Donut mk2 - one of the most essential modules IMO.

Buchla/TTA 266t: Best random module I've ever had.
Buchla/TTA 257t: Very handy utility/crossfader/VCA.
Buchla/TTA 245t: Fun sequencer and I am a sucker for 5/8 techno sequences.

Re: Last Three Modules Purchased
Those were the last three modules I purchased. In fact, the only Euro I’ve picked up in the past year were Buchla/TT. I might get a second 257t.
Re: Last Three Modules Purchased
I am very much looking forward to getting the 266t and 245t myself. They look like they could work well with my system.

Re: Last Three Modules Purchased
It sounds amazing, it was actually the first NE oscillator I considered 2 years ago, but went with BIA first. They all have their own character and exact sound I've been looking for since I started making tunes. Kind of why I fell in love with eurorack.
