Re: Expert Sleepers Disting Mk4
Thanks for this update.
Re: Expert Sleepers Disting Mk4
These are great thank you for your work on these!
two things that would be nice on the freq shifter if they aren't there already-
A feedback parameter- always great to have on a frequency shifter.
Ability for the shifter frequency to go down to lfo rates.

Re: Expert Sleepers Disting Mk4
Not sure what you mean by the 'frequency shifter frequency'.

Re: Expert Sleepers Disting Mk4
Thanks Os! Looking forward to messing with the phase shifter!
Re: Expert Sleepers Disting Mk4
I mean the internal shift amount. If it can go well into LFO rates?
This results in great phasey filtery kind of sounds with freq shifters especially with some feedback.

Re: Expert Sleepers Disting Mk4
The control is linear (Hz/V) and starts at zero so I would say that's LFO rate!

In reaction to 'boosting' signals. 'Yes' (The attenuverter), I use this to boost up line-level audio signals to 'Eurorack-level' audio signals (sampling frequency is good enough). The 'Z' function would be nice to handle 'stereo input' to combine the offset of A and B simultaneously, like a volume knob.

Re: Expert Sleepers Disting Mk4
Is there a way to prevent audio dropouts while using the J5 Audio Recorder or is it pretty much just always going to happen at random? I have been experiencing them a little too often for my liking.
Otherwise though my Disting experience has been excellent, and I may just have to get a 4ms WAV Recorder (sigh...again) and free up the MK4 for other duties.

Re: Expert Sleepers Disting Mk4
Quick question.
On algo N3 - attenuverter - does anyone know what the parameter settings might be so that modular level audio in XY is reduced to line level at AB out?

The first thing I'd try would be a new SD card.safexkeeping wrote: ↑Tue Apr 26, 2022 5:29 pm Is there a way to prevent audio dropouts while using the J5 Audio Recorder or is it pretty much just always going to happen at random? I have been experiencing them a little too often for my liking.
Define "modular level" and "line level" and I'll let you know.

Re: Expert Sleepers Disting Mk4
I’m assuming a max input of 10v p/p, I don’t want the output to exceed 3.2 v p/p and I’ve mislaid my multimeter.
Re: Expert Sleepers Disting Mk4
OK, so 3.2/10 = 32%, so the parameter value you want is 16.

The offset parameter on the Quantizer algos is a great add. Thank you!

Re: Expert Sleepers Disting Mk4
Hi, is there a way to produce a swingy clock with any of the mk4’s algorithms?

Re: Expert Sleepers Disting Mk4
Could the mk4 do what the Doepfer A-112 does or something similar? A lofi, low bit rate sampler. The A-112 can sample 2 seconds of 8 bit audio at 32 khz sampling rate. Its also supposed to be a bit of ballache to use.

Re: Expert Sleepers Disting Mk4
It could, but it would be a total faff to use, given the limited UI available. The disting EX makes for a much better sampler (and sample player).

Re: Expert Sleepers Disting Mk4
I don't know if this is of use to anyone, or if anyone's done it already, but I found the table of algorithms in the Disting manual a bit hard to navigate when I was looking for something specific, or exploring algorithms of a similar type. So I took the table and ordered it both alphebetically, and then again by type. You might disagree with my classification but feel free to download and change.

This is super useful (also for Disting EX). thanks for sharing.
There is also a good reference from @bobborries. it's probably been shared here previously, but I can't remember how I came across it. possibly via reddit.

Re: Expert Sleepers Disting Mk4
I’m trying to use algorithm H-1 to crossfade between 2 different clock signals (5x, 3x) but it doesn’t work as expected. Results are very erratic. Any tip?
Btw with algorithm N-1 Switch it’s working fine.
