Last year, after an extended hiatus from both modular and DIY, I set out to finish my main modular instrument according to a long-standing plan. Only three modules left to build in the top and bottom panels (Fonitronik Cascade, RYO Penta, 4ms RCD). I was always aiming for a cohesive instrument that wouldn't change substantially after a certain point, and I think this is it. Only took me 10 years.

I present you: 2 Mantis cases and a Make Noise skiff. I am so glad, this worked out so well. Made some internal connections via CV and Gate bus, and to send a clock around. Thats why there are random holes in the lower case.
That's a nice idea, and I was actually thinking of something similar to add a 1U row at the top of mine. How stable is it?

that is super slick! Did you use an online fabricator to make the aluminum side panels for you or did you source those locally?

Thanks, the case was made by Ross Lamond in the UK, and I think he sourced the alu side panels locally. Before I modified it to fit my custom panels it had three Euro rows.

I am not sure, if I could push it over, if I tried.

I also carried it around, all in one piece, without the slightest worry.

So, I would say, pretty damn stable!

My guess is that there will be ladders involved.

I have the exact same modules on the other side of the room.

this only counts for credit if you had to remove a wall to make it work.

Nice! Have 2 Mantis myself and like them very much. What do you use for the internal CV bus?

This a home made case or something you purchased?

Still questing for a case to handle my 18u / 84 HP of modules and synths.

Doepfer A-185-2 for the CV bus access and a selfmade blank panel with a jack that connects to the gate bus via jumper cable. And then I shoddily soldered some jumper cables to the switched connectors of a few modules.

I've pretty much done everything except the case finish work on the 'first' case. I like the vertical orientation, and the eurorack go cases make fine enclosures. Standing is cool with me.

Vendors in use:
- Behringer System 55 modules, replaced all the potentiometer with Alpha and modified timing with range switches. More in the buffer to do as well.
- Mutable Instruments, black paneled to match. Working one ports of some her software to Prologue 16.
- Moog eurorack synths.
- Doefper vintage series, fill holes in the System 55 module complement; S+H, Balanced Modulator, slew rate modifiers, etc...

Time to start on my next case! Guitar oriented this time :0)
Oh, you need teeny little hands for turning little teeny knobs, like you need little teeny license plates for bees.
