My Frac Euro ports

Post by mamonu » Wed Jun 16, 2021 6:54 pm

So DIY-wise I am an imbecicle. I wouldnt know which way is up.

But necessity is the mother of all invention

and I have had time in my hands . Since I love my frac but have wanted to fill some "holes" in my frac rack cases with functionality that wasnt there I started mutating some euro modules I had and started repanelling them for Frac use.

1) AT-AT (geddit ;) ) quad-attenuator

basically a repanelling of 2 York modular 2ATs that i had laying around

2) 4LPG

4 passive LPGs courtesy of 2 Takaab 2LPG modules

3) last but not least... ;) frac-panelled O_C...

I havent yet dared to seek a 12V to 15V solution so for the time its powered from a euro power supply providing also power to a Euro 3u row above my frac-racks

Anyway thought that some people would find this interesting...
I can share the fpd files if people want them here in the thread.

Nice!

Hmm. Seems someone needs to make a 15-12 chiclet. 4x156 Frac pigtail and a 2x8 Euro connector with a couple Vregs. 78L12, 79L12. Add a few diodes and caps and it's done.
Treat utility modules as stars instead of backup singers.
Treat power supplies like Rockstars instead of roadies!
Chase magic sound, not magic parts.

Does the O_C run fine off of 15V? I imagine it might, but haven't looked at the schematics.

That's awesome. I constantly harass Simon from York and will let him know.
