Very sad to learn of this. He was by far the most passionate forum admin I've known and I'll miss him. It's nice to see all the stories shared here.

I have only just seen this as I have not been logging in here since "completing" my own Eurorack... No questions to ask... all running smooth, and I don't have the experience to help others, hence the inactivity.

Anyway, enough of lame excuses. Although I never knew Mike it is plain to see what he has created here. And so, through this forum his legacy continues, which is good, and right, isn't it?

My belated condolences go out to Mike's family.

I've been out in the woods for a while and just got back into music+modular. I expected some change after so long out of the community, but this was a shitty change to come back to. Thanks for bringing us all together mate.

Just joined this forum. This news is not so new, but it still feels so sad.
Thank you Mike. Rest in peace.

the place that mike built was my everything for some dark years.. i got to have some conversations with him and although I was just a random forum member to him, he was so genuine, open and incredibly friendly. very sad to lose another great person

Just signed up for the Patreon, would be sweet if it got to the point where Mikes family could receive something each month.

I have been wanting to post here for the one year anniversary of Mike’s death but I didn’t want to seem maudlin. I think Mike would have been pleased to see the forum in such good shape now with the new platform, secure funding and a great team of mods. Thanks to everyone for keeping the community going so well.

Two thumbs up to this post! (If I had more thumbs I would have given them...)

100% this.

Don't worry about being maudlin. I go onto Instagram and re-read old conversations I had with Mike sometimes.

It's a very sad day when this happened. Sorry for me not to have known sooner. I've been very out of touch of late and just found this out.
Cats everywhere must have been crying cat tears. A very cool thing you have done here Mike.

I had no idea this happened. I’ve been away from the forum for years and not active on social media.

I just read through thirty-seven pages of posts all of which expressed my sentiments. I recognized so many users so fondly. That stands as a real testament to Mike.

This forum was a real special place for me.

I recently rewatched "I Dream of Wires" and had forgotten that Mike was in it. Had to explain to the GF who he was and that he was gone.

Never interacted with Mike and had barely been a member for a couple of years when he passed, so I have no real connection.

I can't help but smile a bit when I think of just how profound of an impact on this little corner of the world that this one person has made. To leave behind something that can be such a positive force geared towards community and the sharing of knowledge and art…? Shit, I hope I can do something even half as cool before the end.

It's funny you bring that up stringtapper. I too recently re-watched I Dream of Wires and had a similar realization. Mike's been gone almost two years and is still having an impact on the community. It is a sad sad story but a beautiful legacy.

Someone just sent me a link to this forum and I was surprised at the name change… then I saw why.

Wow.

RIP Mike.
