Twists DIY

Hello. I just finished the build of two Twists. The flashing was done successfully. I followed the calibration procedure with pots turned fully clockwise which resulted in giving the the Algo pot the nice expected color changing behaviour. But it looks like most of the algorithms don't work normally...

Hello everybody. This will hopefully be my last report regarding the uGrids. In advance I appologies If all of this may have resulted in confusion and loss of time by reading my stuff... batchas pointed this in another thread: Just some ideas which came to mind while reading what your're describing....

I've recently built three units that have this behaviour and am trying to understand where could this come from. I'm starting to fear a hardware design issue... I saw your post in the hall of fame thread. I actually claimed victory too fast. One unit has a clock issue and the two other share a same...

Just got an Atmel AVRISPMKII programmer and Atmel Studio 7 on a PC and tested the programming using the method described here (link from magpie modular): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ij3SMkusbL2pcQ3qNHOqQblQwNoDTMC_/view After a short test on a single uGrid it looks like the strange missing gate...

Hello. As I didn't find any manual about this module I just would like to be sure whether my unit is working properly or if I did anything wrong during the building process. I tried to process drums withch where panned in the mix by putting the LRMSMSLR at the end of the mix and it appreard to me t...

:hmm:
Actually I did forget to configure the "Base Output" according to the actual outputs on the FH-2.

So now I can tell: MIDIMATE eX, Octatrack and FH-2 work together as a charm

FH-2 and Octatrack

Hi every body. I just got the FH-2 but it looks like I can't get it to do what I thought would be easy as pie: Namely, trying to allocate different midi tracks from the octatrack to different outputs on the FH-2 in order to play diffrent monophonic voices on the modular :cloud: But no way to do that...

Very strange behavior indeed: after feeding a clock, everything seemed to work normaly. At first, euclidian mode also missed random trigs, then I switched off and on the system and euclidian en drumming duties mode where inverted (according to the LEDs feedback and also for the strange behaviour). M...

Used this procedure with the three units: First I used Erase Device with AVRFuses for safety then, Copy and paste both grids_bootloader.hex and grids.hex files in the same directory Then open a Terminal window from this directory using right click Service>New Terminal at Folder. Type and enter the f...

Got one but it's acting weird. I got disappointed and haven't fired that case up recently, but it might be down to user stupidity but I doubt it, I had the original Grids when it first came out. Hy, how weird is it acting? Does it miss random gates/triggs that are still visible on the LEDs? I've re...

I don't know much about coding in Terminal, but I just opened a Terminal window from directory containing grids.hex file and ran the comand line you gave me. It loaded perfectly. I checked the soledring: no unwanted solder bridge. Tested the programming with the new fuses values and for sure some of the described bugs change totally: Now all modules seem to work the same, all channels generate triggers with Pots set before 12 o'clock and the Tap button works normally. But un...

uGrids and MI Grids DIY builds

Just finished the build and programming of three uGrids but encounter some issues. The programming was done quite easily with a Mac running High Sierra and an AVR Pocket Programmer on the hardware side. On the software side, i used this useful tutorial to generate the grids_bootloader.hex and grids....

I actually claimed victory too fast. One unit has a clock issue and the two other share a same strange behavior on Ch1 and Ch2: the rythmic patterns look OK on the LEDs but the trigs/gates OUTs don't always fire accordingly. The result sounds strangly regular making longer patterns but adds a bit of...

Soldering the crystals manually is easily done if you put solder on one pin first that you afterwards melt holding (or just having) the crystal in place. Not having any tiny solder bridge in between the pins of ICs and amps is the most common difficulty for those MI nano builds. To check everything ...

Soldering of the pots for this one required much more attention than for uBurst an uO_C DO you have a picture of the uBurst? Also, was it challenging to solder those crystals in place? I'm building a uBurst right now.. I had a few parts fuck ups in the kit I bought so I'm waiting for them to be cor...

Hello. Thanks for your answer. By continuity testing I mean testing shortcuts using a multimeter because I don't see shortcuts with the magnifying camera I use. The multimeter actually uses a small amount of current to check this. But I don't know if this can damage the STM32. About the color of the...

Thanks a lot for your advice. I didn't know about this Diptrace software. Just installed it. Very useful indeed! I'll need to check everything that is connected to the STM32 I guess. Regarding the U10 I used the part listed as Q1 in the BOM which is Mouser part number CSTCE8M00GH5C99-R0. A 8MHz crys...

Plancks II unsuccessful Build

Yo! The soldering is fixed. But still I have a similar error message while uploading the firmware. So the question remains: IC10 who's value is V2164SZ in the BOM and that links to the V2164M on smallbear electronics'web page, Are They The Same? Those guys don't provide any datasheet... seriously, i...
