Re: WHY HAS NOBODY MADE A JUNO 106 CLONE YET?!

The Deepmind is a totally different chip set and topology. I have owned 6 Junos in my life and the DM sounds nothing like it. That's not a Behringer diss, it's just that they use totally different ICs and designs. It looks like a Juno, but the filters are totally different. My ambika is the closest ...

Re: How to handle multiple effects

I also use a matrix mixer for this. You can think of channels as Sends on a traditional mixer and create cool feedback patches.

Re: Recommendations for a complete DIY rack

got my case made. it's very janky. I obviously failed at measuring things correctly. i'll have to fill the gap at the bottom and top with something. i'm thinking some kind of weather stripping. debating if i want to sticker bomb it or leave it natural. Re: transistor mixer?

yes, i'm particularly interested in transistor-based approaches. it doesn't have to be a single-transistor design, but it would definitely help if it was on the "easy"-side to breadboard. very curious about the updated buchla design! This is the mixer design I updated: http://fluxmonkey.com/histori...

Re: transistor mixer?

I have a discreet transistor updated design that adds a ton of gain - still kind of sitting on it not sure if it is of use to anyone or not. It's an updated version of the old 100 Buchla - I would look there if you want to build one.

My Mostly Modular Album Fields is out

https://abrahamingle.bandcamp.com/album/fields Each track started with a rhythmic phrase on the modular synthesizer, which I then fleshed out with other voices and phrases, and then recorded. Some tracks then became more "traditional" and others became more abstract. Questions welcome if you have an...

I (humbly) like my AI011 Analog VCO quite a bit. The expander module coming out soon will add some very cool wave warping.

Re: The pain of ordering components

I feel you. I make my BOMs "2 cart" whenever possible. 2 cart means one cart is mine, and the other cart is Tayda. With those two you should be able to get everything you need. The more complex builds (VCO and VCA) do require a little bit of mouser, but no obsolete parts. If it helps, here is a shor...

I use my own humble AI006 for this. Plugging aside, here are two videos you may find useful to actually see and hear (as opposed to just reading) the differences: https://youtu.be/ybNbpc-1VwY https://youtu.be/IXizOs8ySqw Note that in the Pedal Adapter Demo I say that some pedals don't seem to need i...

I do kits and PCB Panel sets. Full video build guides, linked BOMS, step by step photo instructions, and a nice guy (me) to support you if you run into issues. There are also articles with tools and other information. LMK if you have any questions. https://aisynthesis.com/

Re: Recap audio interface

Probably not IMHO. I've recapped a number of things, my Tapco spring reverb, my LA4s, and my PM1000 and those all improved the sound of the 50-60 year old equipment, but I doubt it would make an improvement on that card.

Re: diy partial-kit frustration rant

You might think this is going to be a rant about assembly difficulty or soldering issues, maybe debugging? Nope. My biggest issue as a beginner/intermediate is actually finding pcbs/panels in stock followed by completely insane bill of materials that list non-existent parts, especially material one...

Re: Source of AI Synthesis power adapter PCB, or Euro-to-MOTM converter cable?

I'm looking to power a Eurorack prototype board with a old Frac PSU, so I'm looking for (either) a source of the AI Synthesis power adapter PCB in the US (https://aisynthesis.com/product/modular-synthesizer-power-adapter-pcb/), or a Euro-to-MOTM power cable. I don't want to hack something together ...

Re: What is your favorite way to use Clouds?

But a final stereo mix probably should not be run through Clouds unless the goal is a muddy mess... If I remember correctly the inputs on Clouds aren't really stereo anyway - it's two mono inputs, nr. 1 being the regular input and nr. 2 being only mixed in when adding wet (processed) signal. So if ...

Hi, I'm getting into DIY. I'm verry interested in this module. It will nicely fit with a portrastudio 424 MK1 with 3 speed. I would like to make it pseudo stéréo with relooping : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABU-psBnmxk Anu idea how to acheive this ? Maybe get two module but how to sync them ? T...

This seems great for protecting buyers against loss & damage and completely deters scamming. Does it protect the selle...
