Re: Migrating to Apple silicon - issues, solutions, trouble-shooting

Hey thanks a lot for that response, super helpful! I'll wait until the June 7 announcements at the very least If the M1 looks like it will be the chip used on the "entry/standard" iMac for the next couple years I'll probably go ahead with the M1 iMac currently for sale, but if it looks like their st...

Re: Migrating to Apple silicon - issues, solutions, trouble-shooting

I'm using a 10 year old iMac that's finally slowed down to the point of inconvenience so I've been waiting for the M1 iMac (I mostly use this as an Ableton studio computer, some processor intensive plugins/synths, samples, Elektron Overbridge etc.) anyway, was ready to buy one when I saw internet ru...

i say sell it and strip down to a minimal setup - but i'm someone who can't work in a cluttered, crowded studio with piles of gear, i always get better results out of using a few pieces religiously besdies, if you regret selling something you'll likely be able to reacquire later (assuming you're not...

thanks for the help - there's enough info there to make me cautious about sending it so i think i'll just wait to see him in person

these are hardly like Brian Eno reels or something but it is a master and meaningful to him so i'll probably err on the side of caution here

you don't "have" to have any more or less than that, it depends what you want to do personally i'd drop the mults module, buy a few stackables and get a dedicated filter or LPG and/or VCA for that setup (for starters) - perhaps the Optomix (LPG and VCA) if you are wanting to only buy Make Noise - bu...

if you need a bit more room (8HP) to add another module you could swap out the Mult modules and use Stack Cables instead

i know this is a predictable answer (and not the one you are looking for, haha) but if that is your starting point you have so much stuff there already i'd block Buy/Sell/Trade on MW for 2 months and just dive in! by that point you'll find out what you want/don't want and can make some trades or res...
