Re: Flame Instruments - Vocorder

The module has a quirky design by which the oscillator tracks v/oct when the knob is fully CCW. It threw me off for a bit, but I haven't had any issues with it, although it would be nice if it did work as an offset for the voltage. Tracking seems fine, no problems so far and I don't expect any. I di...

Re: Flame Instruments - Vocorder

I've been using it as an oscillator + filter in the latest patch that I'm planning for a performance. It's a very good module, I kinda wish it had more bands, but I have to admit it packs a lot of power! The looping of the envelopes is just brilliant for sound design purposes.

Re: 12/8 in EuroRack

You can do 12/8 and any type of division with Godfried https://www.modulargrid.net/e/d-machinery-godfried. Apart from polyrhythms, you could have an output set to a specific pattern for accents, or set the CV track to fire off at the above pattern to open your VCA accordingly. Disclaimer: I've work...

Re: Taktaktak - order not received and no answer

Lasse is the only person behind Taktaktak and he's usually very responsive and responsible. I'd trust him to always do the right thing. At that size the loss of a module might be quite severe, but you say he offered to send you another one.

Well, I'm positive he'll give you the refund you requested.

Re: WMD Fracture

Wow, never realised there's a modern take on the Simmons ClapTrap... I for one like the reverb addition, especially since it's CV-able, so it becomes part of the groove. Brilliant! WMD is killing my bank account Your post bumped the thread and in turn reminded me that I always wanted a Fracture, so...

The only real influencer for Eurorack is Modular Grid. I wouldn't have bought half the modules I own if I hadn't clicked on them on MG first

This only applies to latest/shiniest modules. Good luck selling older designs.

Re: Introducing the Accord Melisma Chord Module!

Indeed! How come we never thought of this before? forest...trees...forest... It's because the idea was that arps were a different playing style to how a straight chord plays, with an emphasis on smooth transition between the two so that it feels like one player is doing both. And then you introduce...

Re: Introducing the Accord Melisma Chord Module!

I'll check this later, thanks Sandrine! :hail: It will be interesting to see how this works with different MIDI channels for the arp and the chord. Will the arp's chord change when a new chord is triggered as before? :hmm: There's a part of me thinking it could be interesting to have an option by wh...

You can discern latency starting at ~10ms, any less than that and your ears won't catch it.

Re: Today my small discovery was...

Yes I wondered if it was similar to Clep Diaz. Still not sure what people use that for though. Are you using it with the macro controller as a kind of "do something on step two", something else on step three, etc? CP is definitely a lot more compact than s&h + mult + adder + switch of course, but t...

Re: Today my small discovery was...

Anyway, so it works.... Now what is this actually useful for? Well, honestly, a lot. Anything that's CV controllable could benefit from a steady voltage rise based out of a clock (or division of your clock). I use modules such as the Clep Diaz with macro controllerd such as the ADDAC306 for the exa...

It's not subtle at all but don't expect filter cutoff that you get from a typical LPF, that's not what it's meant for.

Re: LPZW.modules EC-MUTE

I haven't checked the Hosa. I'm using a simple Y cable that does TRS to 2x TS splitting. I got mine from Endorphin.es Melisma has MIDI In and MIDI Out as pins in the back so I'm taking advantage of the fact that EC only utilizes 6 out of the i jacks of the Passive Stereo Module, by using the remaini...

Yes, it's been working like a charm! Y cables are needed to have in/out on a single stereo jack. Tip and Ring can be used for In and Out respectively.

Re: Physical Modeling for Timpani Sounds

I'm a big advocate of physical modeling, but for classical sounding tympani I think the Erbeverb was a really good choice. I seem to recall some demo or other that showcased a really interesting gamut of tympani sounds coming out of it. Worth checking it out, even if unintuitive.

Re: Oopsy = Electrosmith Daisy via Max/MSP gen~

This also just came up https://www.modulargrid.net/e/other-unknown-kxmx-bluemchen which looks far more promising in terms of size. 33275.jpg So let me get this straight, if I make a patch in Max/MSP I can then use ~gen and oopsie to get my patch in a module such as bluemchen? That is just brilliant.
