Re: Modular making me depressed

buying a doepfer system made me REALLY appreciative of every free VCA i have on every single VST in my DAW :D to the OP - i think doing some soul searching about the kind of music you want to make is one of the hardest things to do ....in a world with many trying to grab our attention - its easy to ...

PPG VSTs/iOS apps no more?!

i just discovered Wolfgang Palms VST synths, Phoneme, Wave Mapper and so on...wow.
however - it seems Wolfgang is out of the synth game now.

There is a line on his site saying Brainworx are picking up after he retires. Does anyone know if these synths will ever be available to buy again!?

Here is a project where someone is using an arduino to query a bikes ECU, pretty much what you're describing:

Re: Electronic/Industrial Metal...Cyber that sounds Cyber.

When I spoke to Mumdance he told me about his background and it reminded me of you. He came from a metal background and then got into synths and stuff. His home studio walkthrough is sick. Maybe some of the tunes on these 2 suggestions will be up your street ;) sorry i missed your response :-) i du...

Re: What software and how

pitch to midi is fairly temperamental - a half enharmonic sound source like an engine may just go nuts when trying to convert that. Just thought i'd raise that.

This is the kind of project many of us would love to see documented in a blog fyi :D

Re: Jungle breaks: where to find them?

the most overused jungle break is well and truly, by far: Amen Brother - by the Winstons. the most sampled drummer is Clyde Stubblefield (of James Brown fame)! *Funky Drummer - James Brown (i think earned the title of most sampled drum loop ever) - it was insanely popular in hiphop...but also enjoye...

i think i'm going to be making the mistake of buying and selling this baby beauty. i jeard jexus ion demoing the formant filters on this thing. wow. i've never heard beefier, pleasing vocalisations coming from a synth before. pretty much sold on the spot. gentle cuts of 1.5-3dB have huge impact on a PA/club system
listen to your mixes loud, in cars with big subs/hefty home systems/ or a PA (to gain more intuition about the power of restraint)
this took me a long long long time to understand - and im still grasping it

Re: best euro modules to create violin, viola, cello sounds

I completely understand the feeling. :) There were times when I was producing that sound that I thought "What! I must be listening to a recorded track of a real violin" and rummaged around with my patch bay to see if I made some kind of mistake. But no. The combination of the EQ2 and SY-300 with al...

*the Bissell Envelope Follower (you can get it from Elby Designs) seems to be one of the more responsive envelope followers in Euro. *a multi-band envelope follower as well could be interesting - to trigger certain things from activity in certain bands. Re: Yamaha FS1R Formant Sequencing

Not really, since it's the formant waveforms of the operators, and not the FM, that are used for speech sounds in the FS1R. So I don't believe that that software performed some kind of FM resynthesis. I suspect the FS1R formant waveform is based on the FOF synthesis developed at IRCAM, so you might...
