Re: Rabid Elephant - Portal K--wait, no, Drum

Alright, I've been eyeing this one for a good while and so far I only have two questions: - PLEASE A FULL PANEL :omg: - Considering the excerpt below: Is this done with a single (just one) heavily modulated Portal Drum? It sounds like a pretty capable/superior machine if this is the case in this dem...

Re: Is the VCV Rack version of Warps very different from the physical module?

I've had someone on a discord server actually A/B the VCV version of Warps and the real deal and she concluded that (paraphrased) "there is a difference, but it doesn't actually matter for normal everyday use.". In a bit more detail, the waveshaper has some minimum differences (see image below, blue...

Re: Model 360. Roman’s Programmable Octal Signal Source

From all accounts, Don Buchla thought of what he wanted to do musically or conceptually and then figured whatever would make that happen without much care about whether the solution was digital, analog, hybrid. (in fact one person told me that he wasn't very protective at all of circuits until cert...

Will we ever see the mysterious MX-4S or the DFA-2 as a real conceived product? I'd be even interested in hearing how those two sound, considering Cwejman stuff is mastering grade and all.

That begs the question: when does the 255 fit in the timeline? It definitely isn't part of the two barberpole modules (260 and 297) from 2002.

Re: I want to make a Buchla video for you!

I do a lot of looking at demos and stuff and here are some things i've seen missing in the documentation department: - The relationship between the SUB-MIXER (up top, white knobs) and the quadraphonic processing mixer (bottom, blue knobs) on the 227e (i heard the SUB-MIXER goes to different speakers...

Do any of these guys believe in god? (Cwejman after his passing)

Cwejman ATT-4 for $50.000 . I'm sure this guy is being completely sarcastic, but it is a perfect introduction to the world of Post-Mortem value inflation. It's absolutely sad that people are now deciding to milk the absolute القرف out of Wowa's death (my condolences to him). Despite it being natura...

can someone take a photo of a 200e next to a nintendo switch?

the Title. I know, I know, weird/silly request. However, I seriously can't picture a 200e system being bigger than my laptop (and I've tried everything: rulers, hand comparisons, you name it). I thought of a switch because it's something I think is very common and can give an incredibly good referen...

Re: 288r TIME DOMAIN PROCESSOR - PREORDER

I guess the important question here is -- how does the noise floor sound on this one? I recall Verbos' 288 clone with no signal can be used as a noise source due to the aforementioned being absurdly high. EDIT: I also remember Alessandro Cortini using that same noise to his benefit in Volume Massimo...

What's your favorite/preferred Cwejman panel color? Why?

I'm just curious, that's all. There are some modules only in grey (the VC-FC is the most notable example off the top of my head) and others only in white (CTG-VC, MMF-6, MMF-2 until recently when one in grey popped up on Reverb). There are also readability concerns, heard some people like it grey be...

Metasonix's slogan for a while (I think) was, quite literally, "Blow your damn presets out your ass.".

I couldn't resist seeing the SM-1's in stock, brand new in grey. Super cool score! That module looks awesome. I'll be glad when Big City runs out, so the temptation will go away. I bet Roger will make you a deal. Give him a call. There are VM-1's for $ 1,200.00 used when you can get an SM...

Re: Something new from Make Noise coming?

What would make it legendary is for the individual step trig outs to be diode-isolated (a la sequantizer) so that you can program rhythmic gates via pulse train.

This makes getting a 0-coast and making an album with it much more reasonable, at least for me.

Buchla 200. Not the big foldable blue/red knob/Rogan ones that were made from approx. late '70s to '85, although those are pretty effin' rare. I'm talking the ones that use the big black Davies and have blue covers inbetween rows of modules. Those ARE rare. Wanna know what's even rarer? The big curv...

Re: 200 series reissue and full 208c Easel coming from BUSA!

It would be funny if they reissued the vintage 297. Might be useful to test the market but, come on, they didn't even change the panel graphics on the newer version (not even the added preset management). There’s only one version of the 297. It was originally released in the early 2000’s. The only ...

Would choose Dave Brown. Not only will he fix it, we'll all benefit from his documenting the journey to do so. I'd honestly recommend sending it Dave's way for the joy of reading a nerdy document about his repairing adventure alone. If you find the ZO's guts gorgeous, then Brown's article will be c...

For FACT magazine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUtnzGeXUaQ Man loves his Buchla, but he talks about the D-2000 at 10:18. Also note the old Trashman prototype on top of the rack. Re: Best looking single origin Eurorack (aesthetics only)

For me, Cwejman. There's something about its aesthetics that has a particular pull for me. It may be because of the "what a modernized vintage modular system would look to someone from 2001" look, or the truly unified and never-broken design code. It also reminds me of office equipment, which is a g...
