Re: 3 modules to expand my Matriarch

Speaking of Matriarch being deep... I just discovered by accident that it can do a thing I can only describe as multi-timbral polyphonic arpeggios. :guinness: And I've had it for months now. No Euro modules used and completely undocumented (or I missed it). That thing is a monster. Oh yah how u pat...

Re: Dave Smith hints at Sequential Prophet 5 Rev4/Prophet 10

Becoming bitimbral is, as I see it, technically impossible. But the recent updates are incredible. Dual voice poly mode is the blaster. Becoming confused here... I'm not aware of a "dual voice poly mode" or a recent update for Prophet 5/10. Have I missed something or are you referring to other Dave...

Re: Dave Smith hints at Sequential Prophet 5 Rev4/Prophet 10

I'd like to have lush wide pad sounds out of one box. Analog. Without the need to track twice for stereo width :guinness: what about the UDO Super-6? not enterely analog but one of the warmest and beautiful-sounding synths your lust for wide stereo would be satisfied also, this filters sounds gorge...

Re: 3 modules to expand my Matriarch

It's a sickness but I'm having a lot of fun! Obviously the previous poster's comments came too late/were ignored :help: Sorry for that... ;) Enjoy your modules, but don't forget that the Matriarch has a lot of tricks up it's sleeve that not immediately obvious. What I'll try next is probably pairin...

Re: 3 modules to expand my Matriarch

Hey, After several months with the Matriarch, and coming from a small modular (Intellijel Performance Case), let me report a few insights. Firstly, for me the Matriarch is a dangerous instrument. Quite contrary to some previous posters, it has shattered my conviction that modular is the pinnacle of ...

Re: Moog Matriarch and Eurorack

It's great seeing more and more reviews and general look-ins on the Matriarch, learning more and more, I think the Cuckoo tutorial is especially great! Your ideas sound really great, whilst I'm not too familiar with the Harmoniag, Instruo are doing really great things consistently so I'm sure that ...

Re: "paradigm shift" modules from your experience

Slightly afraid to say that here, and it's more than one module, but: Moog Matriarch. I've been missing chords so much. And, to my surprise, having and playing a really good keyboard changes a lot for me. That's totally unexpected as I don't have any history at all on the piano. I'm so much more ins...

Re: Moog Matriarch and Eurorack

I also finally pulled the trigger on the Matriarch, and I'm so in love – chords, finally chords! Funny to see both Nick and Cukoo suddenly reviewing it. I'm so deep in just playing it that I haven't even started connecting it to the modular yet, but here are some things on the todo list: * Matriarch...

Re: First look at the Instruo Harmonàig harmony quantizer

Also, Harmonaig + switch is fun for generative patches with one programmed melody and a generative second voice. These Sequential Switches are still kind of a Mystery to me  How would u use a SW with the Harmonaig? The idea is to arpeggiate the chord generated by the Harmonaig. So you feed the...

Re: "paradigm shift" modules from your experience

Another one from me, probably a but surprising: 4ms WAV Recorder. I don't have a home studio setup where a lot gear is pre-connected, just an Intellijel box which I use wherever I like, sometimes on the balcony when the sun sets. Being able to record whatever I'm currently doing with a single press ...

Re: "paradigm shift" modules from your experience

Only downside is that it sparked desire long for a proper polysynth. Heh. A lot of the chatter on the Sinfonion thread is how to get the Befaco VCMC or MIDI THING properly converting pitches from the quantizer to MIDI for that exact purpose. This segue’s into the general observation that various mo...

Re: "paradigm shift" modules from your experience

Harmonaig. I'm a sucker for melody and Harmonaig, accompanied by appropriate modules, can so much more than just generate nice backing chords. It's a ton of fun even on a small system like mine, especially for generative but still musical stuff. Arpeggios, (semi-) generative melodies, generative acc...

Re: Moog Matriarch and Eurorack

You could perhaps mult the Matriarch’s CV out into a reverse attenuator and mix that with the new CV into the oscillator to cancel out the keyboard? I do it with my system with Cold Mac (to disconnect Mother 32’s osc from kb control), but Maths and others should also work. Wow, that is a seriously ...

So glad to too this thread come to life – thanks for sharing those ideas and experiences! And great to hear that things seem to go well generally. Not sure if you saw this, but: https://youtu.be/IXt2Trk89W4 Came out after I posted, but I watched it as I'm subscribed to the channel. I love Loopop, but that video is not his strongest, I think. These are certainly not the first things I would try with a Matriarch and modular (but that's very sub...

Currently there´s 2 people interested, so it remains 2 slots for betatest. Sounds awesome, and I'm very much interested to join beta testing! Shall I get in touch with a PM? Edit: Sent you a PM. I'd also stay away from anything that sounds Apple like. I remember a case where they went after some sm...

-Quantizer with midi-in, play the tones on a midi keyboard that should be in the scale. And possibility to do multiple octaves/entire scale. Like only root on the lowest, root and fifth on 2nd oct, colortones on oct 3, only 7th, 11th up high. And stuff like that. Bastl 1983? Don't have one, but acc...

Moog Matriarch and Eurorack

Hey, I'm missing chords am I'm planning to add some four note paraphony my setup. I love 2 note paraphony on my Atlantis, and I understand the limitations (and opportunities) compared to a classic polysynth. I've done my research and I have made long lists of multi-oscillator modules, but the more I...

Re: WMD Arpitecht

Recently joined the Arpitecht crowd – what a module! It seems kind of badly marketed as an arpeggiator. A 100 € Keystep is better at simple arpeggios. For me the Arpitecht feels more like an algorithmic composition tool that comes to live when you modulate through scales and chords. I've had a ton o...

Have you actually tried this with the 1983? The 1983 reads so cool on paper, but people seem to have problems. I have a 1983 on the way, so I plan to check this out. In the meantime also check the SDS Digital Sequarallel, cause I think it's closer to what you're looking for. The Melisma is intended...

It’s missing a piano roll view, but otherwise Vector seems like the sequencer dcbb is looking for. Re: Best random generator for musical phrases

For me arpitecht was a big promise that was betrayed by their designers. A cool idea never developed. At the end I sold it. I sold the Turing and Marbles too. Random is beauty, is Sapel. Sapel is beauty, is random... I can totally see how the Arpitecht can be disappointment, and there are several a...
