Looking at the lot of different tape recorders Tomita used, I wouldn't be too surprised had he made use of half-speed recordings (or double-speed, for that matter).

Who?

Stephen
He was the guest guitarist on an EP by Jah Wobble, Holger Czukay and Jaki Leibezeit back in the 1980s. Rather good. Wonder what became of him?
Ah, Holger Czukay.

Good chap.

Yes, he lists a Maestro Phaser at one point with no model number. Re: Tomita Memorial Museum (and gear spotting)

Does anyone know of any evidence from photos or interviews that confirm Tomita's use of the Bode/Moog 1630 frequency shifter on earlier albums (pre-1976)? Firebird debuted his Moog 55 with the 1630 (and 950B Scale Programmer) but that's considered a 1976 release recorded in 1975. One can hear frequ...

And everybody will be complaining that it sounds nothing like the real thing.

Even Tom Oberheim failed in the eyes (and ears) of many, and his SEM is f*cking damn close to the real thing -- and the closest I will ever get to an original 1975 Two Voice.

The handful of units from the transitional phase made use of the enclosures of the next generation -- the 360B (not officially labelled as such but referred to by some) came in the enclosure of the Wave 2 but had a white front panel (three units) or a black panel with white labelling (two units) bef...

If Behringer were really cool they'd do a PPG 340/380 clone. Whether there's a working example in 2021 is another question.
I know about two or three, actually.

Re: Yamaha Electone with PASS (d85,d65, e70 etc)

Sounds amazingly nice for a home organ but still, it's a far cry from a CS80.

A CS80 is not based on PASS. That's what makes all the difference.

Of course you know that but don't forget to wear an anti-static grounding bracelet (or whatever this is called like) while you are working on the boards.

Thought I'd point that out, just in case.
