Re: Behringer: practices, ethics, morals and legitimacy.

I understand everything you're saying Joe, but at the same time I feel like this helps serves Behringer's interests, and I wish that weren't the case. What?? How? Because it relegates most negative commentary towards Behringer to this thread and effectively "sanitizes" the product threads. Fair pla...

Re: Behringer: practices, ethics, morals and legitimacy.

The best part of this whole thread, is he’s done nothing “wrong” or “illegal”. People are “offended” by his business practice. Yes I own some of his stuff.. I hate most of the other stuff, but trying to cancel culture a billion dollar multi national conglomerate is super cringy.

Re: Behringer brains, warmed-over Plaits with wobbly knobs?

Behringer are very hit or miss. I own the ModelD and Pro 1 and are very well built, sound identical to the originals, and are quality products. Then things like the MS101 miss the mark horribly. The TD3 feels a little fiddle, but sounds good. It will never gig, but it’s a fun studio tool. This thing...

Re: What are your opinions about ; ROLAND MC-4 Micro Composer

I actually posted in the the 'Want to Buy' section about a month ago asking if anyone had an MC-4! Have sent a PM. I’m pretty certain, that MC4 is spoken for, however don’t give up the search for one. It took me 10 years to find one, and I’m never getting rid of it now that I have it. Surprisingly,...

uLFO, almost like a mini-AFG. I have two just so I can leave one in VCO mode all of the time.

Second the uLFO. It’s insanely good as an Osc!

Re: Do you ever pick up cheap Behringer pedals??

I have a few pedals I use. I ended up getting a pair of the VD400 vintage delays, and I like them. They do exactly what I want a BBD to do.

Re: Connecting hardware sampler to mixer

Really the best way is to get a simple 48 point patchbay. It is initially a pain, and you need many cables to set it all up but once it’s there in front of you, routing becomes mere seconds and you never have to go behind the racks again. Also allows you to route new affects and synthesizers in and...

Re: Worth trading a Juno 106 for a Jupiter xm?

You can have a Jupiter and still use a Juno. They are pretty different. I have MKS80 & Juno 6 and there isn't much similarity. I’ve had the 60 twice, and a ton of 106s, and now having a Jupiter, I find that they were trying to get to the JP6/jp8 on a budget and it got its own unique sound. To me th...

Re: Worth trading a Juno 106 for a Jupiter xm?

You could get that Softube 106 emulation that just came out if you sold the Juno and then want to scratch the old itch - sounds dead on! I'm sure the various emulations are right on, but I think this is mostly missing the point of the 106. As other folks have said above. It's a very tactile and dir...

Re: Moog ladder filter is overrated

I agree about the low - or very moderate - Q. Although I loved filter resonance when I had the modular. Maybe it’s due to my involvement with acoustic ensembles. I think 3hands was just joking. High, low; everyone has their preference. I love string ensembles too. I find the low q just more soothin...

This is why I have a Monsoon with Parasites firmware. I love that it is so much more flexible than Clouds. I haven’t had any experience with Beads, but it sounds like something I should look into!

Re: Worth trading a Juno 106 for a Jupiter xm?

No no no. I say never trade something you can't get again (Juno) for something you can easily get. It isn't just about the price. Can’t get again? They’re like rats, you’re never more than 3 metres away from one of them! I’ve owned multiple 106s in my time, and after about 3 weeks, all the presets ...

Re: Choosing an analog monosynth

Being an analog mono-hoarder for the past thirty or so years... I would say to get something that is semi-modular or can at least have some flexibility in its timbre capabilities. If I had to pick one of my 17 mono’s based on price-to-features ratio it would either be the Matriarch or Dominion 1. I...
