Re: 960 sequencer mods

yeah, I`m not messing with 805 (or smaller) 1206 is my limit and even then only if I absolutely must! LOL BTW, I saw a pic of your 8 tier stand, is that 4x GO caes? I was thinking of doing 2 cases eventually but the wooden ends I`d need help with or at least the method used for cutting them out (I ...

I will say that with everything I've ever ordered from Synth Tech, Dotcom, SSL and Corsynth, the packing was first class and everything was flawless out of the box. Can't say the same for some Ebay sellers.

VC over the delay time is very useful when you are operating in the flanging / chorusing range, under 40 ms.

Re: Clock divider resets with Midi->CV

That looks odd. Does the Machinedrum's clock not stop when it receives an MMC Stop? The clock divider apparently is generating a trigger internally off of the RESET leading edge, so once it resets, it ignores the RESET signal until the next transition. You might want to ask Bugbrand about that. Mayb...

If it operates over a continuous range of values, it's analog. If it operates over a finite set of values, it's digital.

Sounds like you might have a case of parasitic sync. This can happen if the power supply or distribution isn't up to the job. I'll let someone who is more knowledgeable about power supplies chime in.

In which case, just in case you didn't know, I will gift you the fun facts that the sound in question was created by David Vorhaus (of White Noise fame); and is from a Deutsche Grammofon recording of Strawinski's Rite of Spring. Wow, I did not know that. I was just listening to White Noise V this a...

Hi Rex; if you're still watching this thread, I hope you're OK and having fun.

I've seen the inside of the music industry, and decided I wanted no part of it. I'm having a lot more fun doing what I'm doing.

Re: What, where, how & the Stereo signal

You don't have to make it too complicated. If you have an outboard mixer of some sort, you can run the output of one module into one channel, the output of another module into another channel, and pan the two channels hard left and hard right. Maybe run them both through a reverb to kind of tie them...

The only MOTM module I know of that ever used the digital ground was the MOTM-650 MIDI interface.

Re: Your surprised-you-module(s)

I'll toss in a module that doesn't get mentioned very much... the Dotcom Q128 A/B switch. A seemingly simple little module. Something devious I discovered: Mult a seqquencer's clock and feed it into a clock divider. Then choose, say, the divide-by-3 output and feed that to the control input of a Q12...

Re: Polyphony/legato sense check (and hello)

The Roland Juno-106 has a voice allocation mode in which you can tell the synth which voice to allocate to which note by slightly arpeggiating each chord. The way it works is that the first note played is always assigned to voice 1. While you hold that down, the next note will be assigned to voice 2...

Re: Why does a square waves sound detuned when in the lower range ?

How loud were you listening to it? Volume has a little bit of an effect on the perception of pitch. Particularly with bass tone, low volume makes it difficult for the ear to determine pitch.

Re: BEGINNERS - What have you always found to be poorly explained?

One thing that I find confuses a lot of beginners is what a VCA actually is. A lot of integrated synths blur the distinction between a VCA and an envelope generator. The key points: (1) Most oscillators oscillate all the time, not just when you play a note. (2) An envelope generator produces a contr...

Entire new system is going to be based on Zytel 801's:

60 Amp, 3Y-Phase Zytel 801 Nylon Watertight Pin and Sleeve Plug, Color: Blue!

Bargain at $442.00 per connector — Fattest sound possible.
Lol, maybe I'll just use steel I-beams. All patch connections will be welded. :yay:
