My µTemps only displays 4.09v max. (haven't checked with an oscilloscope though).

Re: Is there a way to play Rene like a chromatic keyboard?

Subject says it all. Basically, is there a way to trigger a gate and quantized cv for each indicated touch sensor on Rene? So that when I press the C# square that note and a gate is sent? There is, but it's a bit of work setting up. Make 12 states (one for each note), when you go to the state page ...

I'm confused. It has a built in VCA that can be used without the LPG. Why wouldn't you just use that?
Plaits also has an aux output, it can be quite interesting to use different VCA's / envelopes on each output in some models.

Re: Plaits and external VCA?

The internal decay is normalled to the timbre, FM and morph inputs, you might miss that, but you can easily take copies of your envelope and send them to the CV inputs. I use both the internal LPG and external VCA, depending on what i'm going for ;)

René: love how hands-on this is, even manually clocking it with your hand is quite interesting
Marbles: funny that this module has a lot of cv-inputs and I rarely use them, this one really screams to be played

Re: great modules that are easy on the mA

Prolly a silly question but if your power requirements are THAT tight, wouldn't it be better in the long run just to upgrade your power? :despair: It probably is ;) but that's easier said than done... I actually really love my case (makenoise cv bus), besides that it's a bit underpowered (only 1375...

Re: great modules that are easy on the mA

Do you have modules like that , that you love and are always finding their way to your racks? around 35 mA maximum? (ps i wish modulargrid had a power requirements filter) +1 for this! Power requirements filter in modulargrid would make my life so much easier! ;) I'm also very interested in great a...

Having to power cycle your rack in order to make Morphagene accept SD cards is pretty annoying

Re: simple 0-5v voltage knobs/sliders

I also have a Stages available but I cant see anywhere in the manual to use a slider to emit a simple voltage. That's actually really easy to do, just use the orange mode. The slider controls how many volts it will output on that particular stage, the top pot is a slew. I think it outputs 8v though...

Re: Temps Utile - No output from some clock divisions

Hi, I recently got a second hand Plum Audio 1U Temps Utile and I'm experiencing some issues with it. I'm sending MIDI clock from my Digitakt through a Mutant Brain and into the Temps Utile. When I set the clock division of a channel to a lower division like /32, the channel completely stops outputt...

Re: Mutable Instruments Plaits

[Right, so Voltage Block can go one direction ONLY. If you want to sequence a combination of models you aint gettin that with VB. Not really, if you set Plaits at model 1, you can access ALL models in ANY direction with 5v (the model input is a unipolar 5v input, but ofcourse it accepts negative va...

Re: Mutable Instruments Plaits

Thanks, that pretty much tells the story. So VB can push it all the way in one direction, from top green to bottom red. But it has no ability to get you back from bottom red to top green, because it has no negative voltage. That's not really correct, if Plaits is at model 1 and you give it 5v it wi...

LED knobs that show incoming CV

So imagine a knob with a LED inside it (similar concept as the knobs you find on René II for example), now imagine this LED (knob) shows the incoming CV/modulation (brightness=CV amount color=bipolar/unipolar), has this ever been done? My Monsoon has such LEDs in slider form that shows the incoming ...

Re: Not putting markings around knobs on modules...

I have to say that I'm very thankful for this thread, it's something I have been thinking about lately, so it's very timely. My experience so far is that some people really like to have precise markings, and some really don't care, but I think I'll have to dig into this a bit more. Thanks for shari...

Re: Rene2 & Voltage Block Owners (Or Previous Owners)

I really like that unorthodox, sort of random approach to modular. Thought about MI Marbles but idk, I'd like a little control over what's happening and it sounds like Rene could possibly do this sort of stuff (could be wrong). They actually work incredibly well togheter, it's probably my favourite...

Re: Resonestor Dub techno chords - anything similar out there?

Not Euro, but Clavia Micromodular is great for this. There's a Karplus Strong patch in the online cookbook that can be adapted to offer MIDI-controlled resonator chords. I don't have the original Nord modular, but my case is always connected to a Nord modular G2 8-) The delay/reverb effect you hear...

Re: Resonestor Dub techno chords - anything similar out there?

You can do dub stabs with the Intellijel Shapeshifter out of the box as well, but not quite as dense as the Resonestor (no reverb in it). Nice track, by the way, I might have to dig into the Resonestor again. :) Thank you! Oh, I don't care if the module has reverb or not, resonator doesn't have rev...

Resonestor Dub techno chords - anything similar out there?

Hi all, I’ve been falling in love with the Resonestor mode in Clouds and the lovely dub techno chords it can produce. I was wondering if there is anything else out there that gives these Rhythm and Sound-like dub techno chords out of the box? I’ve included an example below of what I’m talking about,...

Re: Newb advice for drum/gate sequencer + Rene2 & other miscellaneous modules

Damn, that sucks. I'd figure something fairly simple would be...simple. I guess not. Coming from a digital modular (nord modular G2) I had the same thought as well ;) I'm sure it could be fixed, if makenoise wants to... We'll see, I may just bite the bullet and give it a shot, if all else fails, I ...

Re: Newb advice for drum/gate sequencer + Rene2 & other miscellaneous modules

If that's one of your main goals to do with René, keep in mind that this only works to some degree (it's kind of a buggy feature and MakeNoise doesn't seem eager to fix it). It's one of the things I had in mind as well when I bought René, but chaining patterns (a kind of 'song mode') is a bit of a ...

Re: Newb advice for drum/gate sequencer + Rene2 & other miscellaneous modules

Awesome! Rene looks a bit intimidating but I'm sure I'll catch on fairly quick. Question about Rene - you can create and save patterns, correct? Like in a DAW, if I had, say, pattern 1 and pattern 2 and I looped them to playback one after the other, that has to be possible with the Rene, right? If ...
