Re: Mutable Instruments Beads (Clouds 2)

Sorry to clarify, I'm talking about Granular mode (Not Delay Mode) . I must be imagining things then! I'm getting Karplus-strong type sounds when Denisty is at 9 o'clock (in Red quality mode). Don't remember that happening. If its normal its fine just want to make sure its not a calibration thing. T...

Re: Mutable Instruments Beads (Clouds 2)

So you know how when Density is high enough, Beads gets into Karplus-strong territory? With the new update I feel like that range starts way earlier now, around 9 o'clock on the CCW side. So half the range is now into Karplus-strong mode? My favorite range of longer grains seems to have shrunk. Is i...

does anybody make 1 inch modular patch cables?

Seems it would make sense when patching between tiny adjacent modules, no?

Re: issue w.Ornament & Crime quantermain

I've had something like this happen when my CV source had too much of a range. Don't understand why it happens but attenuating my CV can help avoid this. Have you tried that?

Re: Announcing ALM017 - Pamela's NEW Workout

Hi i got a question regarding the division in pnw. I want to use the random waveform with loops and quantization in one output and a rythm with euclidian rythms from another output. Is there a way to make the random loop just change when a gate is sendet from the 2. Output? Really like the glitchy ...

Replacing Sputnik modular knobs

Does anybody know what knob sizes would be compatible with Sputnik's modules? Specificially the Dual Oscillator in my case? I'd like to modernize the module! Plus the og knobs are a bit wobbly!
Many thanks in advance!

Re: Announcing ALM017 - Pamela's NEW Workout

question, currently I don't think it's possible but wouldn't it be great to be able to do logic using CV1 or CV2? so after channel 8's logic options, you would see C1 (AND), C1(OR), C1(XOR), then C2 (AND), C2(OR), C2(XOR) . Currently in the Logic menu you can set it to CV1 or CV2 but without any ope...

finalllllllllly had the motivation to update Pam's firmware and so happy I did. The logic stuff is excellent! Easy to get a Flip flop going using XOR!

Re: Mutable Instruments Beads (Clouds 2)

I for one love the Reverb of Beads and wouldn't touch anything about it. There's some magic sweet spot around 85-90% CW that does some serious magic

Re: I'm sorry, really, but I'd like your opinions re QPAS or Stereo Dipole or Parallax

I compared the two: QPAS has a very distinct sound. Its more like a resonantor than a true filter imo. Stereo Dipole is wayyyyyy more versatile. However it's also a bit clinical and sterile in the character department. It can sound quite beefy though if you need that. I realized for me a stereo filt...

Re: Brands that infatuate or leave you meh

what a cringey read, judging modules and companies by the panel design rather than actual function and then making bold claims such as whether its meant for home or live gigging (which makes absolutely 0 sense). SO many things wrong with this post, its a waste of time even correcting it. Nice try th...

Re: just looking for ideas - i have created a monster!?!

The thing is, if i'll try to learn a small number of modules, I know it's just not going to work for me. But, learning a tiny bit about a module and then jumping to the next and the next and then going back to the first, I tend to learn and immediacy forget, I can forget something while still in th...

this rack is called Black Mirror, and consists of all black modules and is a perfect horizontal mirror of modules. Absolutely ludicrous. But if this is somehow not a joke and he's set on it, let him live lol. Never seen this forum so triggered before, its hilarious

Re: Mutable Instruments Beads (Clouds 2)

Beads' reverb isnt just some simple end of chain fx, there's something going on gelling the sounds interesting ways. and the diff algos have diff reverb. Totally different from Mimeophon

Awesome. I hope new production runs of the old modules are in store. (and new development as well, of course!) Agreed, but I'd also like to remember which Sputnik modules I was lusting over that I couldn't find.. ahem. I highly recommend the Sputnik single oscillators. I’ve owned all the Sputnik mo...

Re: Beads vs ADDAC112 vs Arbhar vs Miso

No experience with Arbhar but based on the latency comments here, it seems Beads is a better choice for rhythmic fx purposes. It's insane how much control it gives you by patching in a gate and "seeding" grains in and out based on that gate. It's such a powerful sound design tool and the sound quali...

Re: Random module suggestions

I think ideally a random module should have a smooth fluctuating random voltage in addition to the traditional sampled random voltage. Of the modules you mentioned, I think only 2hp Rnd and Złob Entropy2 have that. SSF Quantum Rainbow isn't a random voltage module in the traditional sense. It creat...

Re: Mutable Instruments Beads (Clouds 2)

Beads -> Clouds Beads to Clouds sounds interesting. How do you use that? how does that work sonically? I love re-pitching Clouds at 3 o'clock, and setting Dry/Wet to in the middle, , so basically you have diff layers of pitches stacking together to make new melodies from simple ones. Also Clouds ha...

Re: Help Me Love My Morphagene!

Its funny, a buddy of mine sold his new Morph in under a week. Meanwhile it clicked with me in under an hour including all the button combos and I was getting nice things out of it immediately. Its now my desert island module. But all these modules are esoteric and if you didn't love it in 2 years i...
