Re: Serge min-max circuit? Handwritten jpg

Curious... if the circuit with transistors vs op amps is comparable in function, which one would draw more current?

I think the one's you referenced are single colour. Do you need RGB?

Re: The 2021 Show Us Your DIY Builds Thread!

I thought I'd post some pics of a really ugly totally not cool digital synth I finished recently. Someday I'll do a front panel etch or laser or something for the control labels. Despite the khaki plastic and "distressed look" to the faceplate, and the lack of street cred or cool capital, I'm proud...

Re: GD32 as replacement for out of stock STM32 microcontrollers?

Hi It seems that most STM32 microcontrollers will be very hard to get for many month to come.. Mutable instruments uses the STM32F103CBT6 on many of its classic modules like Peaks, Braids, Frames etc. Unfortunately, mouser is not even quoting dates for this chip. I was lucky to still have a couple ...

I have around 25 V2164 VCA chips available for those interested.
Through hole or SMD?

if SMD, what would you be interested to trade for?
Yes, SMD. To be honest, I'm not sure what I'd be interested for a trade. Let me know what you've got.

Re: DOTA Filter / VCA demo and schematics

Or... another idea. Why not keep the 2 inputs, but have a single potentiometer that acts as a xfade. Even include CV control over it. This could play very nice with the CV of the filter core. You can weigh up the pros and cons. You would need to add some additional components to compensate for a lin...

staaaaaaaaacyyyyyyyyyyyy
It will likely never happen, sorry! The module is designed around the panel being made of translucent FR4 material.
Curious as to which pcb manufacturer you get your panels? Is the fr4 white or have a yellow tint?

Yes, I agree also. I try to avoid them wherever possible. If they are a control parameter which will be used less frequent as opposed to the main knobs, then that is generally where I would see a place for them.

Re: GRAINSCAPE

Try this:

Enter this command inside terminal (obviously changing the path to the location of the executable)

xattr -cr /path/to/application.app

For example:

xattr -cr /Applications/Grainscape.app

Or try change -cr to -rd

Re: DOTA Filter / VCA demo and schematics

Thanks for your explanation Artis. Very nice job :)

Whats the plans for layout? Personally I would go SMD... Do you have specifications on HP width? I'm a bit of a sucker / perfectionist for symmetrical PCB layouts so curious as to how this would turn out.

Also, current draw?

Re: DOTA Filter / VCA demo and schematics

Very nice.

At what point is the saturation occurring? The input OPA1679 has 2v zeners which makes it think this is the point, however on the demonstration video, it seems to show saturation well above this voltage point. Or does it occur further downstream with the 9.5v zeners?

Ah thought the logic analyser software from Saleae was proprietary. Didn't realise it worked with any analyser. Cheers

Yes!!! Especially the microcontroller market. ARM is out of stock everywhere, and expected fulfillment is due in 2022 at the earliest.
