Re: Today my small discovery was...

Probably pretty obvious for a lot of folks who play with Rings but it just occurred to me that splitting the same signal into Brightness, Dampening, and V/Oct is great. Each note imparts its own tonal quality but does so regularly so it sounds more cohesive than a bunch of unrelated/random signals g...

Re: Introducing X-Pan!

Edit: I'm dumb and just realized I had the equalizer on my Mackie adjusted away from unity. I'll leave the post up as a testament to my idiocy. Does X-Pan shape waves a bit? I just built an Electrosmith 3340 VCO and I went to calibrate it using Visual Analyser on my computer via X-Pan > Mackie > int...

Re: Older MOTU MIDI Express XT routing issues

Self bump in a last ditch effort if anyone can help. (I know it's bad form, I'll let it lie after this one!) I'll try and re-install clockworks on the older PC but next step after that would be to get in touch with MOTU. I can't submit a ticket, though, until I register the hardware which involves e...

Re: 2hp

How's the one tuning knob on the Sine? I ask because I'm looking to replace Chipz with an Electrosmith 3340 and figured Sine would be an interesting second oscillator. One gripe I have with Chipz, though, is that the tuning knobs don't cover a huge range on it so I always have to offset my sequence...

Re: 2hp

Has anyone here used a 2hp Sine? I'm considering it as a modulator for my main oscillator, and for some wavefolding flavor. There aren't many demos of the wavefolding timbre that I can find. Hi afaafa, i used sine a lot during the last year, both as single voice and modulator for fm. it has a lot o...

Re: Announcing ALM017 - Pamela's NEW Workout

Question on the CV inputs: Does anyone seemingly lose the signal when adjusting the attenuation on 'CV1' for parameters? In my case I've just plugged a square wave from Pam's into CV1, assigned Euclidean Rotation to 'CV1', and I go into the 'CV1' options to adjust. Initially the little monitor page ...

Older MOTU MIDI Express XT routing issues

Hey all, anyone with some old gear maybe have some tips for me on this one? I have an older parallel version of the XT hooked up to a desktop running Clockworks. I've got it all working pretty well on its own but I'm trying to tie it into my PC and running into some issues. My set up looks like this...

Re: Re:

I’m tempted to give this a go w/my PNW as well, though my main (minor) gripe with the display is more about viewing angle than brightness (i.e., Pam is in the part of my rack is lying flat of my desk, and the angle is sharp enough that I need to stand up or lean forward to read the display), and th...

Re: Blofeld defaulting to INIT patch when controling it from software

Solved! Figured out I could block patch changes going into the Blofeld on my MOTU. Doesn't explain any of why it was happening in the first place but at least it's behaving now.

Seems like 6 tracks of MIDI is more than this old box can handle... or MadTracker. The clock is struggling!

Blofeld defaulting to INIT patch when controling it from software

On a mission of pure stupidity I've been trying to get MadTracker 2 running on a Windows XP box to sequence my synths. I've managed to sort out the MIDI routing and get around some crashes with my sound card which is exciting, but whenever I start entering notes for the Blofeld in the tracker it res...

Re: Getting started - Volca Vs NiftyBundle

I'd probably echo the above and say get a semi modular. Mother-32, 0-Coast, and Lifeforms would all be great but there are plenty of others out there. I've only played with the 0-Coast myself but I've had it for years and still love it. If you want to go straight into Euro then definitely check out ...

Re: Announcing ALM017 - Pamela's NEW Workout

blown away by my recently purchased pams but could anyone tell me please where to find the 'logic' menu? cannot find it at all, and i believe i'm running the latest firmware (since i have the quantizer). thanks ! 207 is the latest, so that could be a few versions after Quant was introduced. Hold th...

Re: Book recommendation on modular synths?

I just came upon Perfect Cirtuits guides which seem like a good breakdown of concepts. Not as step-by-step and more of a scatter shot, but could be worth adding to the list of resources. Edit: My short term memory is trash and in five posts I'd already forgotten that OP was looking for books ... Sor...

Re: cre8audio

So a few months on now, how are folks getting along with the Nifty Case? What have ya'll bought to compliment it? I immediately got a uVCA and a 2HP ADSR so I could wrangle Chips into order. Also just recently added a Disting and Pam's New Workout. Disting has been fun to play with as a quantizer, n...

Very smart about waiting until you understand. Hm, so have you tried with the PITCH knob all the way down? I'd try that first and put the MB octave all the way down as well. The 0-coast is supposed to be calibrated for 1 volt per octave and that's what the MB puts out. Hadn't realized to keep PITCH...

Bump back from the dead. My Microbrute is tracking an octave higher than it should according to the manual. Octave selector is on green/0, leftmost key should be C2, closest Fine Tune knob gets me is A#2, so C3 it is! I've seen mention of this fabled 'Technote 6' around the internet but of course it...

Just another sucker here who bought a 0-Coast and will probably end up buying a skiff in the future. That said I A) still have no idea how to patch things to really get the most out of the 0-Coast's routings and B) really just love the normalized sounds I can get out of it without patching anything....
