I use Intellijel Plog, but also have a Blue Lantern CMOS Party that I use to mix it up a bit.

Re: Doepfer A-180-9 ethernet module - experiences sending audio?

I use a pair of these to hook the controller I built (a Doepfer ribbon controller and Mother 32 case holding the ribbon module along with an older Tetrapad and Planar2, power supply, and a-180-9) that I affixed to a piece of wood I cut from my pile to my main synth; (I call it the log, which was wha...

I really like it! I have a Plaits and use it almost exclusively for percussion, but I never really thought about using it for noise, I need to check into that, thanks!

Re: Noise

Since most of the uses for noise have been discussed I'd been looking for a multicolored noise module to experiment with, I do have white and pink, but wanted to try something a bit different. Unfortunately by the time I was ready to pick one up they had been by and large all sold out, each one I re...

Re: Anxiety and playing

I've played music in front of people since I was in grade school, playing in a rock band back in the day and a Christian Contemporary band later in life, and out of thousands of performances there was never a time when I was about to play that I didn't fell like I wanted to puke just before taking t...

Re: Tetrapad vs. Pressure Points + Brains

To tell the truth I haven't really dug into it yet I'm so happy with what I can do now, but I do need to take a deeper look as I know I'm not using it nearly to it's potential. I use it almost exclusively for the euclidian sequencer with faders to bring each voice in and out of the mix. I've been us...

Re: Tetrapad vs. Pressure Points + Brains

No experience with those Make Noise products, mainly because I live in a high mountain desert and devices that require my skin to complete the circuit don't work for me unless I continually wet my fingers, which I found out on a Studio Electronics Charcot Circles I purchased. On the other hand I thi...

Re: Any advice on methods used to recalling patches?

Repatching for a modular sound is a lot like taking a hit of acid; you can sit in the same room, the same chair, and look at the same picture, but every trip is still somewhat different. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVn_JzCiWyk Joking aside, it's more a case of remembering how things work and wh...

Re: Weird electricity issue

Yes you are probably shorting signals to ground in an environment that was designed to enable you to do so without damaging your modules. My Tip Top Circadian Rhythms almost always stops when I plug in cables and it's running, something to take note of if patching for a live gig.

Re: Are mixers expected to add a little noise?

Ok, so I run my Mixups into I/O modules and then into a Mackie 1202. The 1202 runs a sound reinforcement system which is dialed in through a Driverack PA 2 running sets of 12 and 15" 2 way and a Turbosound iQ18b and thousands of watts available. Unplugging inputs from my Mixups and cranking the volu...

Re: “Generative” definition

Anyone set defined parameters and then patch so the generative system stays “within bounds”? The short answer is yes, you almost have to set up your cv so it doesn't drive your filter into cutoff for like a minute, I've had that problem, get a good thing going, cut it loose, and then find after a w...

Re: Mono drum source (BIA) to stereo sound

One-spring stereo reverb (mono source): This patch works with either one or two mono signals. Patch signals to Left and Right inputs, patch Mid output to a spring reverb set 100% wet and then the output of the spring to the Side input. Take the stereo signal from the Left and Right outputs for a sup...

Yeah, it does cymbals (and warped plates) like no other module I have! I really like it. I've played with sending them stepped cv's instead of just lfo envelopes, as I have one of those DivKid Random Step modules and can get some real interesting sounds. I should note that I'm not into cymbals, whic...

I have two Mixups and haven't noticed that behavior, but I will try them out when I get home to see how mine act under similar circumstances. I am off the next three days, so I won't be back until Friday, I live in a remote area and don't do internet at home.

Re: Are mixers expected to add a little noise?

I have a number of 2 to 4 channel mixers for audio and cv made by Pittsburgh, Zlob, Tip Top, Intellijel, none of them make any noise. Is there any noise at all with nothing put into it? I mean like with nothing connected I can turn any pot on any of my mixers up all the way and there's no noise. If ...

Re: “Generative” definition

Well since you asked I set upon a journey to learn, as I've heard the term thrown around a good bit as well, and here's what I found: Generative patches, or generative music, is the concept of connecting your modules in such a way that they basically play themselves with little or no interaction fro...

Re: WMD Crucible

My understanding is that position 2 has more "sizzle" to it, perhaps your Tone control is dampening those frequencies? It also talks about feeding audio into the "input", perhaps that's the control over the "sizzle", I dunno, as I almost exclusively use it on the 3rd setting for a plate without a ho...

Re: Are mixers expected to add a little noise?

You don't happen to have any digital modules installed next to your mixer by chance, do you? I had a similar problem once when I installed my Disting Mk4 next to an audio mixer, I was picking up digital noise. I moved it to the other end of the case and it cured the problem.
