Re: Heavily Joranalogue based system users

Huh, this is a really interesting thread. I have G3, F8, F6, and C1, and now I'm wondering if I need Compare 2 and maybe another C1.

Re: Which sequencer am I looking for?

Variable sequence length on the two tracks Variable division or perhaps even tempo on the two tracks I think these two criteria would require two separate sequencers Not necessarily... Stilson Hammer can do this I believe, as can NerdSeq (at least separate divisions, not sure about entirely separat...

Re: WMD MSCL noise question

I have a couple MSCLs and I've never noticed any noise. It's a great compressor, and it has a lot more depth than four knobs might lead you to think. Seems like it'd be a solid choice for you!

Re: Doepfer 9U Monster case: mistake?

I am wondering have any Doepfer Monster case owners felt the case was to big when they started using it? 168U too wide? Maybe even moved on to multiple smaller cases. Did your patching experience change when using smaller case or moving from smaller to the monster case? I know there is no right or ...

I'm not positive, but I think you have to press record to save while you're on the clock settings page.

Re: Rossum Electro-Music - Trident

Thanks for the in-depth reply. Very useful info. Classic question: you have to sell one of them, which one do you keep lol ? That's a good question, but my answer won't relate at all to how good the modules are, just how often I happen to use them, so take it with a grain of salt -- they're both ex...

Re: Rossum Electro-Music - Trident

I'm considering the trident. Already got a Instruo CS-L, Piston Honda Mk3 (and owned Verbos CO, DPO, Hertz Donut mk2, Piston Honda mk2 etc. in the past. Anyone owns the Cs-L AND the Trident ? Having watched all Youtube videos the Trident seems quite bright - how are your experiences here ? Thanks. ...

Re: New WMD Performance Mixer

Yeah the two stereo channels scare me, especially since all new modules seem to be stereo nowadays. But I have a feeling I'm not going to know exactly what I want until I have it...or don't. I went ahead and ordered the WMD anyways. I have a feeling it will solve a lot of my problems, but cause a f...

Re: New WMD Performance Mixer

Has anyone else kind of stopped using dedicated VCAs and started just using the PM's volume inputs? Obviously VCAs have their uses, but for controlling voices, I've just started plugging oscillators into the channels and patching envelopes to the CV inputs. Makes patches much more simple and it work...

I would suggest testing that before you buy anything. Power it by itself from your PSU, and if it still behaves that way it's probably not a power issue.

Re: Eurorack beginner's advice

1. Play with stuff before you buy it, and read the manual and watch demos 2. New is almost never better, just different. "Upgrades" are rare in this world. 3. Make sure you're buying a module for a reason -- work towards a goal, and make absolutely sure you can't do the thing you're trying to do alr...

Re: Patching-up your own complex-oscillator: How are you making yours?

My current favorite is the Joranalogue Filter 8, Generate 3, and Fold 6 plus some envelopes and VCAs or LPGs. It's a fantastically unusual and diverse voice when set up like a complex oscillator. Generally just use the f8 as a modulation source for g3 and sometimes f6.

Re: [modal synthesis] 1V/oct VC pingable resonant filterbank

Bit of a tangent here, but this thread sold me on a Stereo Dipole. Picked it up yesterday and boy oh boy is it amazing for this sort of thing. Somehow I didn't realize that it was actually four filters, not just two. I'm sure it's more limited than four separate filters, but I really like the global...

Re: just looking for ideas - i have created a monster!?!

I have a 15u x 168hp system. My day job involves synths and music tech, so I spend a lot of time with them, using them, thinking about them, all that. I help people design systems quite regularly too, ranging from composers to producers to performers. I wouldn't be able to plan out a system that siz...

I received my Chronovore at the end of last week (speedy shipping, thanks!) and I've been trying to learn it since. The TB-303 workflow is... not intuitive. Re: Presenting Michigan Synth Works Chronovore Sequencer

Just ordered mine -- might as well answer all my questions for myself and it looks like a ton of fun. Curious once I get through learning it if upgrading the CPU will be something I want to pursue. It's really cool that that's an option. I've never used a 303 before, so I've got some learning to do ...
