Adagio for Strings on a Haken Continuum

I improvised this a few nights ago to perform in a "talent show" at work. This was recorded in one take. My Colossus provides the intro and the rest is the Haken Continuum. I used the EaganMatrix with a modified patch based on the sound of the Yamaha CS-80 with a transistor ladder filter. The Contin...

Re: New poly synth/synth company - ASM Hydrasynth

Does anyone else feel like the output volume of the Hydrasynth is low? I have to turn it up in my DAW to level it with other instruments.

Re: Running Out of USB Ports. HELP!

I bought one of these for my rack and it works very well. I only put synths into it. All other USB devices go into a separate powered USB hub.

Re: NONLINEAR LABS C15 DIGITAL SYNTH

The comparison in my mind is simply a matter of which instrument I want to focus on/development deep expertise in. I chose the Continuum because I can use it with my Colossus and my Buchla system, in addition to its incredible EaganMatrix synth.

I still want a C15. I just got the Continuum first. :)

I think the new Easel keyboard is coming soon, but the 200 reissue is vaporware.

Re: 200 series reissue and full 208c Easel coming from BUSA!

Just a quick check in. Has anyone heard anything recently about the 200 reissue/208c easel? I tried emailing Buchla, but I haven't heard back. We talked to Eric about the 200 reissue and the 208+218e (Easel with keyboard) in a recent episode of Source of Uncertainty. http://sourceofuncertainty.audi...

Looks like Nonlinear Labs is adding MIDI over USB and an internal digital recorder. Pretty cool updates.

I have wanted one of these for a while. I even paid for the Sound on Sound review. :) Maybe with the MIDI update I can finally pull the trigger.

Re: Buchla 200e Module History / Timeline

I like that the 297 is a Buchla 200-series module, along with the 260. I talked about that in the intro to my 297 segment in the March episode of Source of Uncertainty. Buchla brought back the 260 as the 260e, then discontinued it around 2006, and were pretty close to shipping it again in 2016, but ...

Re: Noisebug press release / Buchla future

Did somebody say 272e? :) https://robstand.bandcamp.com/album/seven-wavs Making that album with the 272e was the most Buchla thing I've ever done with my Buchla. I did some research on the 272e for the podcast and the album, and it gave me a new appreciation of the 'radio music' innovation from John...

Re: Noisebug "just say no" press release

I think Studio H could be easily genuine Buchla modules, that's what I meant. But in the end it doesn't really matter what brand they are, for me these modules are pure 200e. I 100% agree. I've talked to Doug many times and interviewed him on the show, and I still don't know how he does it. The hig...

Re: Noisebug "just say no" press release

.... I don’t have much skin in this game but as an outsider after that last Podcast I’m left wondering about what if any 3rd party modules I could purchase that would work with an expanded Skylab system if I was to purchase one here soon. From my impression it seems that it has to be 100% BUSA modu...

Thanks for the luxury transport distraction. I personally use public transport (we are lucky to have an ok network).
I live in a semi-rural area in a small town about 45 minutes from Seattle. We don't even have Uber.

We may have different views on what humour can be. The interviewee is very skilled at entertaining guests while not saying much at all. He seems to enjoy dark humour too. Having us sit for an hour and a half with very little substantial information.
You could always ask for a refund.
