Re: Our answer to modular polyphony: Supercritical Synthesizers

This is a patch that bends the idea of octave stacking. The expander has an alternative CV mode (Hold FUNCTION and click MODE, the expander leds blink quickly) which turns the four CV inputs to control 1. Sync Time 2. Sync Random 3. Octave stack size 4. Octave stack interval. FM amount attenuates al...

Re: Hemisphere for Ornament and Crime: Logarhythm Branch

Oh no. I went to the deep end. Finally managed to merge the Quantermain to the Logarhythm branch and get it somewhat working. The downside of o_C firmware hacking is when you get something working it would also be nice to change this and that... Of course the Seq5 needs eight steps and some more ext...

Look at that!

The Perfect Circuit people made a cool video about different approaches on eurorack polyphony. It's featuring the DCO, the Acid Rain Chainsaw and the 4ms/Matthias Puech Ensemble oscillator.

Re: Hemisphere for Ornament and Crime: Logarhythm Branch

Hi! Since this is the more experimental thread going on of the OC story, I’ll ask this here. I’m trying to compile the Logarhythm 0.95 firmware and hack it a bit. All of the readymade hex files work fine but when I compile any of the Hemisphere Suite releases I get a blank screen on my OC although t...

Re: Juno Style Stereo Filters

Ive had the Supercritical Neutron Flux for a few months, it is capable of a wide range of flavors, not sure if the Juno style sweetspot is in there but it may well be! A bit pricey but a very dope filter, and is crazy small for what it is, something like 12hp. Definitely worth a checkout When I was...

Re: Supercritical NEUTRON FLUX 8 Pole Variable Character Filter

The new firmware 1.2 is out! You can download it at our site and update your module via audio http://supercriticalsynthesizers.com/neutronflux/ I'll try to get inspired to make a playthrough video of all of the modes in next week or so. There's a handy character guide which sums up all of the conte...

Re: Supercritical NEUTRON FLUX 8 Pole Variable Character Filter

Quick patch idea: When doing resonant filter sweeps with a long decay envelope, S&H a voltage near zero (±0.5 V) in the stereo cv input with gate as the S&H trigger. That'll give you some pan randomization in the stereo image. This does something similar that an Oberheim would do if the voice pan po...

Re: Are there any modules with knobs that click as they turn?

You might be talking about a wire wound pot? It’s between a full click rotary switch and a smooth pot response. Afaik, they are usually used when the pot needs to handle more power. It could be a cool curiosity piece if one of those would be used in a 5U module.

Re: Supercritical NEUTRON FLUX 8 Pole Variable Character Filter

This is the most interesting Filter next to the gorgeus sounding Filter Threek of Funkstill. BUT: The Layout of the Neutron Flux Filter (Knobs, Space) must have been made by someone not working with eurorack at all. Pots are all at the very sides. That means: We are extremly limited in the choice o...

After watching the superbooth video the only three things I can think of is how cool their modules are, which modules I’m gonna sell and that the Finnish are the Canadians of Europe.

Some updates from the workshop: We did some major work on the classic characters. The series modes on the 6 and 8 pole settings on each characters were reworked. Some interesting stuff is happening there. - Sour mode - Since we have two filter cores, we can do some tricks here. The 303 has the usual...

Re: mini mic into Eurorack

I soldered this Y-cable with a similar schematic posted earlier. I use one end connected to a offset module (set to around 5V) and one end in a VCA which is used to amplify the signal. That's a quick and dirty solution that won't require any special modules.
