Re: Behringer 909 announced

On the rd8 it is the rim shot, and a couple of others, can't remember now .. ah, thanks. so you'll have to sacrifice a sound to get that ... pity. you might as well use the audio-output then ... found that the sectret to using ext fx is to route the kick around those. using the individual out takes...

Re: Behringer 909 announced

and now we're at another ikonik pece of gear ... regarding all the bitching on B's lack of original sounds, i've watched quite a few demo's of the rd8. and in each one the emphasis was on how close to the original sounds it was. obviously people demand that ... but loads of other drummodules around ...

Re: buzz/hum when plugging modular audio into audio interface?

well, the idea is to make a good connection to the the earth. so you take a copper tube (water pipe) and ram it into the ground, long enough to reach the groundwater level. i got a firm to install me a lightning-deflector rod right next to the mains inlet. i connected that to the earth of the output...

Re: Need help/advice to finish my rack

have you looked at the eowave qs? it looks like a fun voice. with touchkeys. digital osc (i esp like the grain sounds), filters and a spring reverb. and lots of patchpoints re: springreverb: not sure if the limiter etc is very usefull. i have a sony springreverb that sounds so unspring-like i might ...

+1 on the jc120. the speakers are the weak part. put some jbl's in it ... i use mine to drive my fender leslie's (1*12" no horn each) and with the chorus on it sounds even better ... used it for elektrik piano and even vocals on small gigs ...

ok, so exchange a few tubes. they're most likely quite old and will wear out with time. esp the power tubes ... ans while you're at it check the electrolytic condensors. they will dry up with time ...

Re: The "WIll my mixer explode?" No Input Mixing Thread

i'm using a 2*10 band eq from vermona for feedback. with two art micpre's. mainly to flip the phase. and a bunch of guitar pedals in the loop. works great. no problems. i also just got a randon source clone of the serge resonant eq. it has a feedabckloop built in to it ... so you don't need a mixer ...

Re: The "WIll my mixer explode?" No Input Mixing Thread

I had an old 4-6 channel tube PA head I was using as a gtr head into a cab; it was 12ax7s into a pair of 6v6 power tubes for 18 watts or so. I had it cranked up a friend plugged his pedalboard in which had some fuzz/overdrives and really goosed the signal the amp lost a lot of volume and never real...

I'm interested in these as well.. so much to choose! It is difficult to tell how much low end these have in the few demos I've seen. Could they be grouped by general functions? or by types of sounds/noise/timbre? i am getting a pultec eq clone to shape the low end. and a dim.D clone for some pseudo...

as far as noise levels go: get a small 5 watt amp and a good cabinet. then mic that. no need for a 50 or even a 100 watt monster. depending on your taste you can get a variety of tubes/valves. or even a tranny one if you make your sound with pedals.maybe even get two cabinets: the sound of the speak...

you def need a preamp. esp with a dynamic mic. try to get one with phantompower: you may want to upgrade to a condensor. and don't put the mic in the bell. you only get the low notes there. the high notes come out of the holes! best is to get a good engineer. you need the extra ears ... wooodwind in...
