Greywater - Thee Greywater Songs of Scrap (industrial/noise/drone)

https://ryanlaliberty.bandcamp.com/album/thee-greywater-songs-of-scrap Four new songs with a whole lot of DFAM, Lyra, R*S Resonant EQ, and various other bits. I guess it's industrial/noise-ish? Someone on another forum said it reminded them of the soundtrack to a JG Ballard book, and I think that's ...

Re: *VIDEO* Befaco Kickall - kicks, bass, FM voices ...

I just bought a Kickball and the Trig input seems a bit odd. It triggers fine, but the output is a lot higher in pitch than with the Trig button or Volume input. Is that normal? It sounds great when I just send a trig into the Volume input, so I'm happy, but I want to make sure it's working correctly.

Given this is in the euro forum, I assume they’re looking for euro format? Pickings is slim and pretty well listed above.

You don’t even need to go to the manual. It literally says it’s analog on the product page.

DFAM kick in less hp?

I love my DFAM but really only use it for kick drums, triggered from Steppy. For that purpose, it's huge and taking up a lot of space in my case. It's a great piece of kit but I feel like I'm not really getting much use out of the sequencer or other bits as I have that stuff elsewhere. Two quick cav...

Utilities -- attenuation, inversion, offset, comparators. You're really, really going to want more of those than Maths can provide.

Re: [NEW] Serge Resonant EQ for Euro by R*S

Thanks. I figured it out...Mouser supplied me 220pf in place of 22n resistors. :bang: That's a first; I've never had an issue like that with them. Replaced with actual 22n and it's all working as it should!

Can anyone help me understand the behavior of the normalizing switches? If both are set to "pre", how could both filters come before each other?

Re: just looking for ideas - i have created a monster!?!

Utilities are more than just attenuation and offset (and those aren’t solely for fixing problems). You want comparators, logic, rectification, s&h, switches. Otherwise, why go modular at all?

Some recent sounds. Not really sure how to categorize it, but I've been listening to a lot of power electronics recently so there's definite influence from there.

If I could truly only have a single modulation source in a case (but why impose such a restriction?) I’d have an es8 and Max/msp

For $15 in parts, you can build an EHX LPB (or buy one for under $30). I’ve used it and it works fine.

It’s not a dry/wet control; it’s a dry level control. If you have no distorted signal and turn bleed all the way off, you will have no signal at all. Think of Bleed and Distortion like a 2 channel mixer.

Re: Looking for unusal machines, like Folktek Resonant Garden

I’m guessing you’re not looking for strictly electroacoustic? In that case - Soma Lyra? Anything Ciat Lonbarde or Lorre Mill? Once you’re looking for something like the Erica drone, why not just a small euro or 4u rig? I reckon you’d be quite happy with a single Serge row if the Erica strikes your f...

Re: VoiCas Ledrover powercable, watch out!

^ I’d accept that I’m in the minority, but the last few euro rigs I had didn’t require any 5v power. I had 16-pin boards but I definitely didn’t need them.

Re: VoiCas Ledrover powercable, watch out!

Every cable I've seen till now mating a 10pin with the 16pin connector has the 10 pins to 1 side of the 16 pin connector so the 10 pins will slot into 1 end of the socket on the powerstrip and not in the middle. Are you saying this module is differently wired from all other modules I've encountered...

Re: VoiCas Ledrover powercable, watch out!

It should be obvious that you can’t just plug it wherever but you absolute can mate a 10 pin cable with a 16 pin header, shrouded header be damned. It’s certainly not “dangerous as fuck” and the seller really does not deserve your ire.

There’s nothing to go wrong if you pay attention to what you’re doing. Never assume the red stripe means anything beyond a pretty color on an otherwise grey strip. Doing the barest amount of research will save you a lot of future grief.

R*S Carnivore build issue or normal behavior?

Do you have a Carnivore? I built mine up this week and seem to be having some issues with the Slopes/DTG side. I calibrated so I’m getting about 0-5V from all of the outputs. I don’t have a scope, but that’s what my multimeter shows. However, I can’t seem to get the left gate output to reliably trig...

I’d also suggest DIY. The Zlob Attenumix is a cheap PCB/panel set and a simple build.
