Re: DIY Mutable successfull builds hall of fame

Hey all, How's it?
Has anyone had any success building Veils 2020 using AS2164 or SSI2164? Other folk have touched on this but having tried the recommended solution of changing the RC and CC values it makes no difference.
The issue I have is localized to channels 1 and 3....on several modules.

Re: Converting DWG to Gerber for Mutable Instrument Panels

Just use the AI files and save them as SVG files. There's a few ways of writing them to KiCad format, I find it a lot more flexible. Edit the AI file into your layers and the save in SVG. Use inkscape and this extension: https://github.com/badgeek/svg2shenzhen Follow the directions and then write to...

Re: DIY Mutable Unsuccessful Builds

I checked all the incoming voltages on the main chip and everything reads fine. No shorts. [/quotThe LEDs won't light until you patch a trigger/gate into either IN. If you've worked through your power issue and have something patched then there's no reason why it shouldn't work. Do you have any typ...

So after a bit of desoldering and some testing. Coolaudio V2164s are the better if you don't want to mess around with the Rc values. The Alphas are no different to the SSI.

Re: DIY Mutable Unsuccessful Builds

Hmmm, that's a pain but would explain it.
V and AS are like hens teeth so RC values it is. Any change I'll post it here.
Thanks.

Re: DIY Mutable Unsuccessful Builds

I just checked the data sheet and it states: "The SSI2164 is quite tolerant of RC network selection, but 220Ω/1200pF has been proven to work well over a wide range of RIN values; existing SSM/V2164 positions with RC networks of 500Ω/560pF also work well for RIN of 20kΩ or greater." Veils 2020 uses 5...

Re: DIY Mutable Unsuccessful Builds

Which 2164 are you using ? (if you are using SSI2164 you may well need changing the RC values at the input - check the datasheet!) Try with an as2164 or v2164 if you are using ssi2164s.... :-)

Ahh...really.
Thanks, I'll check it now. Would it only effect channels 1 and 3 and not all of them?

Silly question but you are powering via the ribbon cable?
Have you tried pluging the ST-link the other way round?
The module will do nothing until the firmware is flashed, bootloader first.

Re: DIY Mutable Unsuccessful Builds

Got an interesting issue with a pair of Veils 2020 builds, interesting because it's consistent across both modules. Both channels 1 and 3 output 2.7v with the gain up and nothing patched in. Channels 2 and 4 respond as they should. Here are a few photos, though the flash doesn't lend itself to the f...

Mutable Veils 202 DIY issue.

Hey all I trust everyone is well. I've built a few Veils 2020 modules and they both have the same issue. Channels 1 and 3 have a 2.7v constant on the output where as channels 2 and 4 are ok and function as they should. Both are using the SSI2164 ICs but I doubt it's those, I used the AS2164 ICs in m...

I've had these in the build queue for 9 months. So proud of these babies! Very easy build!
Have you got a part number for those switches please?

LM4250CN replacement.

Hey all,
I'm looking to build a Polivoks board for my Shruthi but the LM4250CN are discontinued and I don't want to chance buying fakes from Ebay, is there a drop in equivalent? They can't have just discontinued them without there being a replacement...?

Re: DIY Mutable Unsuccessful Builds

Hi everyone, I'm having some trouble getting my stlink utility to recognize mu antumbra knit build. I've followed Cnicht's suggestions to stekme. I've checked the voltages and everything looks ok on the 3.3v, 3.3vA and on the -10v ref. However, I'm still unable to even get the stm32 seen by my stli...

Shruthi firmware flashing via USBASP

Hi all. Firstly I know nothing about flashing so keep it simple. I've got the bootloader and firmware HEX files for the Shruthi but I wanted to do it without using the DEV-ENV, is this possible? I've got a USBASP adapter but I'm more used to using an ST-link and only using the DEV-ENV for compiling ...

Re: DIY 4ms SMR

I'm getting mad on a couple of boards I ordered 99% pre-populated from JLC (I only soldered all TH components, all led drivers ICs, and a couple of capacitors..which I have now desoldered) Electrolytis where presoldered and I removed them 'cause they didn't look like well soldered... one of the two...

Hi All, I am just getting into EuroRack and I have a Pittsburgh Modular MIDI3 - bought it second hand, it is my first extender module for a DFAM and M32 combo. Using it with a RowPower 30. That's a great idea, I will try hotplate before I grab a rework station. Also, shameless self plug, wrote a little blog on my build experience: https://www.stevetravale.com/4ms-smr-build-diary-9/ Any feedback would be much appreciated! I don't think anyone really reads this sort of content anymore....
